I tried to add this on my former discussion but must have done something wrong so I am reposting it here.  This morning Sophie threw up the sock and the shocker is 5 mins later she threw up one of mine!!

Last night my granddaughter left a gift card oh the chair and we were chasing Sophie trying to get it before she eat that!  We did get it.  Sometimes I think she thinks its a game.

I want to thank all of you for your help and stories. I guess this is just the beginning of Sophie's eating frenzy!  Happy Thanksgiving to all!  :)

Trading for something really good like a treat or biscuit works well here.  That is the only way I can get him to drop the "fun" stuff.  But he does GREAT with the "leave it" command when we are practicing.  Just have to keep practicing, practicing and practicing.  Glad Sophie returned your socks!!!!

Sedona will trade the "fun" stuff for a treat, too.  The problem is that apparently she's too smart for us.  When she wants a treat, she'll rummage around until she finds something she knows she's not really supposed to have.  She comes prancing into the room with the goodie prominently displayed in her mouth and will keeping looking at us until we notice.  We used to have to say "drop it" several times before she'd let go - now as soon as we notice that she has something, she drops it (no command necessary) and runs into the kitchen to wait for her treat.  Often, she'll repeat the process until she's had a couple of treats - or until "mommy" steps in as she's tighter than "daddy" and doesn't always provide the reward.

hahaha -  they are so smart, aren't they!!!

So are the socks washer or trash bound?

Too funny Cindy, they are outside in the trash can. Melody when she realizes I am after her she runs. I never tried "leave it" she does great with drop it when playing ball or with toys. My husband is worried about all our decorations that will be on the tree.  She is crated when we are away but she doesn't seem to mind if we are near her and she wants something, she just takes it and runs... ugh!

Bella just consumed another tiny PAIR of my grandsons socks last night ! Guess they are just too appealing.

Wow, that's a lot of laundry in one doodle. Glad all is well.

You must be so relieved!  I can't believe she had 2 socks in there...wow.

Sounds like Bexter!  Glad she got them all (well...hopefully that was all) out!  Bexter just snatched a $5 bill off the counter and ate it!

And I thought terriers were bad..lol mine never did the devilish things Sophie does. My DH tells me that when I go away to a store that she goes in her crate (on her own) and sleeps. Then when I come home she is all over me...lol..

Still waiting for the missing pair of socks to show up here. Time to go scout out the backyard again!

I WISH Stuart would eat socks - he likes to eat rocks and last week barfed up one almost the size of the palm of my hand.  I never knew that he had eaten it.  I think it had been in there for a while, after I washed the slime off - it was really warm - lol.
