Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

So, as some of you may know we got Darwin from a back yard breeder, before we found DK and learned everything we know now. His mother was owned by the breeder, a golden retriever. The father, a standard white poodle was her friend's dog.

By the time we saw Darwin's litter (12 weeks) there were only three puppies left. Him and two other boys, but I know there were more than just 3 puppies in the litter. I want to know who his siblings are so bad! I would love to have a romp with them, or even just see what they grew up to look like. I'm pretty positive that they were all sold to locals, as she wasn't extremely legitimate and I doubt she advertised or shipped the puppies. I always keep an eye out for doodle owners, hoping that I will find a long lost sibling. :-)

His breeder is not involved at all, she never even responded to my e-mails when I used to send her photos of Darwin. So she's not an option for finding out where his siblings went. I realize that it's possible his siblings are long lost and we'll never find them, but my curiosity keeps me wondering. Any suggestions?

Do you know who your doodle's siblings are? Have you had romps with them? Do they look similar to your doodle or completely different? Post pictures if you have them!

I dont have any good photos, but I have met 3 of Coopers full sisters, and some half brothers through our Doodle Meetup Group (though they only meet once every 6 weeks or so and I often cant go because of work). 2 of them are much bigger than Cooper and have turned rather grey, while Cooper stayed chocolate. The other sister is a smaller cream, who looks more like Cooper, though I think its because they have longer fur, while the bigger 2 are cut very short. They dont seem to recognize each other, though that may be from excitement from being surrounded by other doodles.

My breeder (here on DK) always responds to my emails and loves (I asume!) to see photos.

That is so great that you have such a wonderful breeder. Of course I don't regret getting Darwin but I so wish that I could rely on breeder support and involvement at times! How interesting that two of Cooper's siblings changed color and she didn't!

Maybe the local vets would be willing to tell you if they have new doodles as patients. You could always leave an email address with them and ask them to ask the family to contact you--that way, they are not releasing their contact information.

My LD had five boys in January (I raised them for my breeder and she sold them) and I kept one and see two of the brothers all the time. They all looked pretty different since the dad and mom were also very different and carried lots of different colors. My pup looks just like dad (Black and white), one brother looks just like mom (apricot), two look like the dad's sister (mostly black) and the last one looks totally UNIQUE! (Red and white particolor). We plan to have a pup reunion later this summer.

This is NIGEL, the fifth pup after his first haircut last week. I get to groom him, so I will get to see him now and then. Isn't he the cutest?

So cute. Fun that you get to see them!
What a  cutie pie Nigel is!!!!    This is the perfect cut for him isn't it?!   Totally adorable - I love the variations in color and markings.
The red markings barely showed when he was a pup and I thought they would fade--while his apricot brother got much lighter, he got much darker--I guess these things really are hard to predict!

I really wish my Dood's breeder would have at least offered to forward e-mail addresses of those that agreed to it, to the rest of the litter.

The only thing I know is that a litter mate got on an air plane with his family to go home. Actually, I am quite jelous of the others in my breeder group that have contact with their littermates. I would love for my little buddy to see his brothers and sisters. And I really want to know how the other pups in his litter are doing, what they are learning, and what they look like.

When we went to pick up Huffy there were 3 males left but I knew there were more in his litter. We met one of his siblings owners son and wife 2-3 times and they said they would organize a play date but we have never talked to them since. His brothers name is Jack and his owners name is Angela (I believe). I wish I could meet some of his siblings but no luck yet.

He does have one goldendoodle friend that likes to play with him. Her name is Nala and she is on this website with her labradoodle brother (Ensteine).

I got Sheila's sibs names by emailing them, got from breeder.  Three of us still correspond once in awhile.  Both of the sibs are twice as big as Sheila, but their traits, looks, mannerisms are remarkably close.  I'll prob never see them, except we send photos.  They live in Fla. and Mass.  It's fun to compare their lives, though.  I'll bet your breeder didn't even keep a list of who she sold Darwin's brothers and sisters to.  Darn.  Well anyway, Darwin is a lovely sweetheart!!
Since we rescued both our boys I knew there was never any chance of finding siblings.  Clifford was rescued with either a sibling or his mom after being dumped by his backyard breeder near a large concert arena in Detroit, unfortunately the other doodle did not make it but I really wish I could have met her.

We were lucky enough to have nice pictures from the breeder.  She gave me litter mates photos, mother & father of Leo.  I also send her photos of Leo.  We have met 3 littermates through the years.  I did take pictures when I had my phone.  Some of Leo's litter mates look more like our new dog Fen.  Leo has a long coat, Fen's is short and wirery.  Our meeting were accidential....just seeing someone with a Labradoodle and striking up a conversation.  One time it was far from where we live at my son's baseball game.  I starting talking to a lady who was walking her dog at the school.  It ended up being Leo's brother!  Two other times just walking down the street, again the conversation started & found out we'd just met his sister!  It is a small world at times.

Actually, our breeder for Vern is on DK and some of Vern's siblings are on her website and Vern's mom has shown up in the slide show. Fudge's breeder barely wanted to give you an extra picture of Fudge as a puppy, so I would not even contact her for any information. I did, however, find one picture of Vern's sibling that I wanted to share.
