FInnegan passed his CGC tonight.  I'm so proud of my "I'm living life like there's no end to my leash" doodle.  After a pretty dicey practice test last week (I think we scored 6 out of 10) Finn scored a perfect 10 tonight!!

Hi Joan, so very happy that little Treasure is doing better. We have had one dog with this type of problem and I found this website and product specifically for this condition. I'm sure your vet told you that an impacted gland can rupture and cause a lot of distress. Plus they will drag their bottoms and they can develop a habit of obsessive licking of the area. Chloe went into this when she was 3 years old just as we were ready to retire her and when she went to her wonderful new mom and dad I sent this product along and they used it for awhile and now feel her condition is fine and they are just keeping an eye on it and having her glands expressed every few months or at least checked.

It's called Poopity Doo. You can also just add a teaspoon of a high fiber cereal to his food daily which certainly won't hurt anything. Really glad to know he is ok! :)

Wow,Joan, things can sure happen quickly can't they??? I'm glad that Treasure is feeling so much better and that his problems were easily resolved!

I'd love to bring Sheila but she is a mini ALD-only weighs 10 lbs.  Any other smaller ALD's coming?  We live in Bloomington.

Wookie talk is a perfect description, I like it. My so called mini ADL (Pepsi) is 21 inches and 32 pounds, I call her the mini tank. My daughters standard ALD (Cozi) is twice the height and length but weighs about the same.

Yes Sadie's a talker too.  I love it!  Before I got her the breeder was saying that doodles make funny noises.  I much prefer her "wookie" talk rather than barking.

Yes, my ALD is very vocal.  He talks about everything.  It reminds us of Aunt Dorothy who used to talk while she was swimming.  "Now I am going to do the back stroke."  She might have just been talking to herself out loud and didn't realize it.  Harpo is kindof like that.  You can't really tell if he is talking to you or himself.  But it is very funny.

Cozi does the Ahwoo woo to alert everyone there is something lurking outside but the funny part is that when the other three dogs come running and barking (at who knows what) she runs into the back room and lays down like nothing happened and I am left to go shut the other three frantic barking dogs up. She is the only one that does that...over and over and over! But I laugh each time she comes running in to lay down because of the look on her face...like oops I didn't know that would happen, I'm sorry.

Tara makes a really funny noise that I am not even sure I can describe! The closest thing I can compare it to is what a person would sound like if they were trying to talk with a mouth full of marbles. It usually happens when she thinks there is something outside of the house that I need to "handle".  If she thinks she hears something outside she gives a couple of barks than turns and looks straight at me and starts talking in "marble mouth". It totally cracks me up! I have a friend with a mini ALD that does the same thing!

Does anyone's Doodle talk and moan? Both of our Doodles make the strangest noises. When it is time to walk (and yes she definitely can tell time) she comes to me and if I don't acknowledge her she starts with this high to low ohooowwwooo and reaches for my arm with her paw to stop me from working on the computer or whatever I may be doing. Also both Doodles make moaning sounds when they are stretching out or curling up to sleep.
