Welcome to the Dixie's Doodle Alumni group. Dixie has been breeding Austrailian Labradoodles for years now and I thought it would be fun to have a group dedicated to all the precious doodles that came from her program.

Let's share some info about our doodles! What litter did your doodle come from.. and of course, we want to see photos too!!

Oh Dixie, how terrible. You and Mudgee are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi Everyone,

Please keep my sweet Mudgee in your thoughts over the next few days. He is clinging to life after undergoing surgery at the Texas A&M emergency clinic to remove a ruptured gall bladder, caused by a gallstone.

He got sick on Tuesday, stayed a couple of days at my vet's, got better, and came home. He started to get worse again, so I took him back to my vet on Friday, and then ultimately to Texas A&M last night. We still didn't know what was wrong at that point, but ultimately they determined that a gallstone had formed and had caused his gall bladder to pop, spilling bile out into his abdominal cavity.

The surgery was very long, and his heart rate got very high, plus as of an hour ago, he is still bleeding heavily and is having a blood transfusion. At this time it is touch and go, and as long as I do not hear from the doctor, I can assume he is still alive.

Mudgee is 7 years old, too young to die, and I am not ready to lose him. He is my gentle clown-face. Even yesterday as sick as he was, when he walked into the vet's office, he immediately walked up to a woman in the waiting room and put his head in her lap. I have cried more tears than I thought humanly possible and have second-guessed myself with regards to how we could have done things differently. But all the what-ifs in the world won't change what-is.

Please be thinking about us today.

I'll have to say that Jett likes flying onto the sofa and then down again when he is acting silly. He looks very cute with his first hair cut. I'll post some pictures soon. The picture on the wall is old so I need to get some new pictures and a new one on the wall. I tried to get it changed a few weeks ago and couldn't get it to change to the new picture. Too bad I'm so weak in computer skills!

I can see why Fozzy is so adorable and loveable. We met Shadow on our first Dixie visit and he closed the deal for us wanting to get an ALD!

Funny, Malu leaps from about 4-5 feet away into the air like a gazelle to land on the sofa. He is going to be an agility dog!

Kona is Fozzy's mom! I guess that makes Jett & Fozzy half-brothers! Fozzy has topped out at 46 pounds. He is 15 months. He is a perfect size because he is such a lap dog--we couldn't handle much bigger! Another cute thing he does that I love--when we invite him onto the sofa, he doesn't just hop up like our old dog did. He gingerly steps up onto the sofa--it is just so sweet--like he doesn't want to hurt us by jumping onto us. I am trying to picture Jett sleeping between your pillow and headboard, Jaquelyn! That is hilarious. He is a beautiful dog, I love his long hair too. I will let Fozzy's grow back out for winter, but it was just too hot and way too much work with burrs and matts for summer.

Michelle, I like your cupcake, he is a cutie. Our Jett is getting his first hair cut, right now. I just hope I will recognize him!! I love his beautiful coat but with the summer finally arriving here in Calif. it was time to get him cool. Peabo is Fozzy's daddy, who is his mom? Jett really has the same face (diff. color) and his dad is Shadow, mom is Kona. His favorite spot is under my desk too. His favorite place to sleep is between my pillow and the headboard of the bed. Of course I have to scoot down about a foot, but he fits. Jett is a little over 8 months and I'm sure he is 40 or more pounds.

Some Fozzy Musings--I've been meaning to comment on a few posts lately, so decided to make one post instead!

* Fozzy has another quirky habit I have to share. He has always liked to sleep under my desk since the second day he arrived home as a puppy. He could just crawl through the bottom of my chair to under my desk and curl up under my feet. Now he is too big! He comes over and puts his head in my lap. If I don't get the message he pushes at my knees. I have to scoot my chair way back so he can fit through--but usually now he also requires about 5 minutes of petting before he will settle down into his cubby. Hilarious!

*Fozzy is also NOT calm at our door. I will try some of the advice shared, but right now what we often do, especially for deliveries, is put him into Dan's study which is immediately off our entrance with double french paned doors. Fozzy has gotten so used to it that as soon as the doorbell rings he barks his head off and goes immediately into the study--I close the doors and he sits calmly and waits for me to let him out. Trouble is, he is SO quiet that sometimes I forget to let him out! He never does bark, and it isn't until I hear him rustling around by the door that I realize I've left him in there! Crazy!

*Look at my big boy under my desk! Can you tell that his Daddy's coat is taking over my chocolate puppy's fur? Peabo was his dad--and now Fozzy looks like a chocolate cupcake with a vanilla glaze ;-)
