Welcome to the Dixie's Doodle Alumni group. Dixie has been breeding Austrailian Labradoodles for years now and I thought it would be fun to have a group dedicated to all the precious doodles that came from her program.

Let's share some info about our doodles! What litter did your doodle come from.. and of course, we want to see photos too!!

Many thanks to you, Dixie and Christine. Your wish list and your description of the facility you decided on give me a good idea of what to look for, Christine. I'll take them with me while I'm shopping.

Berry Creek in Georgetown is really good, but I looked at their website and they are booked thru most of August. You might check with your vet; mine keeps lists of kennels, trainers, etc.

Susan,

I don't know about good boarding facilities in Austin, but I did have to do some research here in College Station. Things I wanted - lots of exercise opportunities throughout the day, clean facility, knowledgeable staff, etc. I found a location here, close to my home with good reviews. Their website said you can come tour the facility any time and that you didn't need an appointment.... so I did! The facility was really clean, the staff was friendly, asked about my dog, answered my questions. The take the dogs out in play groups 6 times a day.... and provide a treat toy once a day. They have suites w/ TVs for the pups who don't do well in traditional runs (quieter), and regular runs. Shelby did her first boarding for one night only - did great. Two weeks ago, I had to leave her for 4 days.... she did well, was so happy to see me, but not eager to leave either - kept going to Jake (staff member) to get pet and attention. It just felt right.... and thus, they were my choice! If you are willing to drive for boarding and want the info.... let me know!

I'm going to have to board Alfie for two weeks while I'm on vacation July 17-31. (My original plan to leave him with my daughter isn't working out.) Does anyone know a good kennel to recommend? What do I look for? I've never left him for two weeks, and I've never left him in a kennel. I'm afraid I'm going to be so worried about him I won't be able to think of anything else!

That is so cool! Max lost a canine and there was blood all over his beard. We found the tooth and I have it in a zip lock bag. My husband wants to know if the tooth fairy will come lol:)

Lily lost her fist tooth last night playing with the City of Austin's Mayor ProTem, Mike Martinez's puppy. We were at an event where Lily was recognized by Austin Women's Magazine as the winner of the cutest pet contest at Opal Divine's (awesome dog friendly resturant) Who new having a puppy could advance my networking!
