Welcome to the Dixie's Doodle Alumni group. Dixie has been breeding Austrailian Labradoodles for years now and I thought it would be fun to have a group dedicated to all the precious doodles that came from her program.

Let's share some info about our doodles! What litter did your doodle come from.. and of course, we want to see photos too!!

to Michelle Michel: Hi Michelle. You're right, Fozzie is Fido's littermate and I would LOVE to get them together. I would have answered you sooner but for the fact that I can't figure out how to do that on DoodleKisses. If you want to email me back, that would be great. melross19@gmail.com

Thank you for the chocolate info. I called the vet and they told me to watch him; he didn't get any stomach distress. He grabbed a 3oz bar of dark choc. and ran outside. He had most of it eaten before I could get to him. He did get more excited. (maybe he thought WOW that was tasty!) We were lucky.

Chocolate info: the worst type of chocolate is bakers chocolate or any unsweetened chocolate. Anything like 60% cacao, etc. Milk chocolate and candy are still not something you want to give your dog, however, usually these are less likely to cause any troubles. Other things that are relevant to the situation are the size of the dog and how much they ate. So if a 10 lb dog eats even a little bit of chocolate, and especially dark or unsweet chocolate, it can be a huge problem. But if it is 100 lb dog, and they ate a whole bag of milk chocolate (my dog Bruiser did this at 97 lb) nothing may happen (nothing did with Bruiser except he pooped out the colored foil the candy was wrapped in. SIGH.) Or if big dog gets a wee bit of dark chocolate, maybe not a big deal.

Bottom line is keep dog away from chocolate if at all possible! But if milk chocolate, don't panic. Keep an eye on them, watch for vomiting, diarrhea, excitability (from the caffeine) and see how they feel, if acting WAY off normal, then maybe a trip to the vet is necessary. If acting normal, probably everything will be ok.

I didn't think she was matted, and I wanted the groomer to trim her shorter than she was but not that short. Oh well.

They look so much alike! I'm not at all surprised they're related. Did you shave her because of the heat or because of mats? Alfie doesn't mat much (except for his tail).

That's Calista. She is a half-sister to Alfie.

Thanks! We're happy to join the group and looking forward to the next Doodle Romp! Someone asked about Oliver's litter. He was born on October 17, 2008, to Peabo and Calista. He was the largest puppy in the litter (apricot boy). He now weighs 53 lbs. The vet said he has a very athletic frame. He finished his first agility class last month and had such a blast doing the jumps. His litter mate, Buttercup (purple girl), was in his puppy class, so we try to get them together about once a month. They love to wrestle and chase each other. Look forward to connecting with some of you at the dog park.

Welcome Betsy & Oliver! Glad you could join us!

Hey Jacque, you were lucky on that dark chocolate. I've heard that is the most toxic kind. Jett must have a stomach of iron. That's good!
