Welcome to the Dixie's Doodle Alumni group. Dixie has been breeding Austrailian Labradoodles for years now and I thought it would be fun to have a group dedicated to all the precious doodles that came from her program.

Let's share some info about our doodles! What litter did your doodle come from.. and of course, we want to see photos too!!

They are similar...Littermates are siblings from the same litter. Siblings are brothers or sisters, but they can be from different litters.

Matey is the big guy. He weighs about 45 pounds. He was black boy in the litter, which one was Alfie?

How fun to find one of Alfie's littermates! Which is Matey? The one on the left or right in the photo? (Aren't littermates the same as siblings, Dixie?)

Welcome to Cheryl, Matey and Checkers! Let's see...Matey is a littermate to Susan's Alfie, and he is a sibling to Sully. Checkers is a goldendoodle from another breeder. Matey has his CGC (Canine Good Citizen).

Dixie, I am hosting a B/CS Doodle romp this weekend and Kristen said she and Max should be able to attend - so he will get to meet Malu. It's going to be fun... we have also connected with a golden doodle owner her on DK that will be joining us!

Merrill, Hot spots are pretty common in TX for dogs who are real furry. Did your vet suggest any cleaning tips or just the cream?
Comment by Dixie Moore on June 3, 2010 at 9:09am
Wow Merrill, poor Emma! I hope the hydrocortisone cream helps her quickly. I don't have any words of advice though.

Happy birthday to Sully! That's a great photo of him!

Also, welcome to Kristen and Maxwell. Malu and Maxwell are littermates. You guys should get together before Kristen and her husband move to the DFW area, if they haven't already. I think they both just graduated.

My Emma has developed a "hot spot" on her hip. She licks and licks. Every time she walks or moves it drives her crazy. I took her to our vet and he gave her a shot and we are treating it with 2.5% hydrocortisone cream. She won't eat and drinks very little. Our vet recommended an e-collar but I am trying to just keep her quiet (which isn't hard right now) to avoid the stress of that collar. Has anyone experienced this problem and are there any suggestions on what we could do next? My vet thinks this is summertime eczema or allergy to the shampoo the groomer used. Any thoughts?????? She is absolutely miserable. I feel so sorry for her.
