Happy 7-months-birthday, Shelby, and please feel better soon! How distressing when they're sick. Glad her energy is good, hopefully her system will toughen up as she grows!

Dixie... thanks for asking about Shelby. We just got back from the vet. She was active and showed some interest in food this morning (ate a few pieces of boiled chicken) and then threw them up. Threw up again all yellow bile/water. She had two x-rays - there is no blockage, but she has lots of gas in her system. So, she got a shot to stop the vomiting, an antacid tablet and an anti-inflammatory. The diagnosis is gastroenteritis. Shelby is proving to have a "sensitive system". She has been seen two other times for stool issues and/or vomiting! My poor little girl. She is napping and I just finished cleaning up the carpet. The doc said to wait about 2 hours and then start her off with a blan diet... we've done this before (white rice and boiled chicken) and she loved it. I just hope she can keep it down. She hasn't eaten since Thursday night. She is drinking (thank goodness) - has decent energy... so that is good. I just want my little girl to feel better. The vet said - she's got energy... she wrestled with me on the x-ray table :o) and she promptly greeted him when he came in to examine her. It is so hard when they get sick... I feel so helpless and just try my best to comfort her... lots of gentle petting!

Christine, how is she doing today? Still sick? I hope she is better and is able to keep some food down. It's so hard when they get sick, just like with children.

Riley, Kielah and I had a great time. Thanks for putting this together. It was the pups first time out in a social setting and they loved it! Thanks, Dixie, for posting the slideshow. Made me smile all over again.
