Welcome to the Dixie's Doodle Alumni group. Dixie has been breeding Austrailian Labradoodles for years now and I thought it would be fun to have a group dedicated to all the precious doodles that came from her program.

Let's share some info about our doodles! What litter did your doodle come from.. and of course, we want to see photos too!!

Carol the aversion training goes like this. The trainer brings out live muzzled snakes and a snake skin. They use a shock collar on the dog. They show the dog the skin and the dog gets the smell and then they put the live snakes out in areas on the trail and take the dog on a lease near the snakes. They watch for the dogs reaction; want to smell it bite at it etc. and when they get close they shock the dog. The dogs seem to think the shock is from the snake. They use this type of training for hunting dogs. We only have one kind of rattlesnake here in Southern California but our neighborhood has miles of trails and there are always snake sightings.

I never heard of this training....what's the deal? I live in prairie rattlesnake country, and could possibly run into one on our hikes. I am very reluctant to get Cody the rattlesnake vac (if it's even available here in Colorado) because of some issues he's had with seizures.

Yesterday Jett had rattlesnake aversion training. It was interesting to watch. Now let's hope he doesn't have to use it!

I'm so sad we can't be at the doodle romp this weekend! I'm out of town and Michael is playing in a golf tournament. It is such a great idea! Henry would LOVE it. Hopefully we can make the next one. Beth

Hey thank you everyone for wanting to do a "Big Romp" when I come to Texas. That really put a smile on my face and Jett loves the idea! I think the T-shirts and photographer would be fun. I can't wait to hear about the romp on the 28th. Have fun everyone!!
