Ok, I uploaded a photo from Dixie's website (let me know if you are not ok with this Dixie! I will take down right away if you didn't want your pics posted here!) of my Doodle which I will be picking up on Friday. 3 days!!

I have VPI, and I'm happy with it. When the vet met Alfie, she said to me, "It's been my experience that when a dog costs a lot, it continues to cost a lot." She encouraged me to get an insurance policy on him.

Christine, I'm so sorry about your Shelby. Alfie's had his run-ins with health issues too, but they're mostly related to stuff he eats (including, a few times, marijuana he found at my daughter's house--he loves it, but it freaks him out!). I am SOOOOO glad he has pet insurance.

On a totally different note - Shelby got her first boo boo - I have no idea how it happened, but on Monday morning I noticed an area on top of her head that appeared to be oozing or something the fur was wet and matting. She wouldn't let me get a good look at it and her long locks were in the way. I took her to the vet and they had to shave her head to get at it (an abrasion that had gotten infected due to lack of air circulation). This is the picture just after she got shaved, it is now scabbing over and not nearly as sensitive. Although she hates the spray I have to put on it (I think it burned like bactine the first few times). Today it looks much better... It makes me so sad when she runs away from me as soon as she sees the spray bottle. Thankfully we only have a few more days of that!

Congratulations Minga.... Your puppies coming home day is going to be here before you know it! Have you chosen a name? I can totally relate to your friends might be getting tired of all the doodle talk... I talk about my Shelby all the time! She is an amazing doodle... so smart... so sweet and full of personality!
