Cost to Groom

On average, what do you spend on grooming?  I know someone that comes to the house and she charges $70 for Doodles (this includes everything).  I am not sure if this is reasonable.

For my 35lb dogs, I pay $70/dog and leave a $15 tip per dog, so $85 total.

For 65lb Mel, I pay $90 and leave a $20 tip for a total of $110.

I should also add, we live in Washington DC and this is the absolute lowest I've found. Most places wanted $130 for my 35lbers.

I pay $58.00 to an independent groomer for complete grooming (ear cleaning, nails clipped, hair cut and wash and dry) and leave a 15% tip. He's 42 pounds (a mini goldendoodle)

It's going to depend heavily on where you live. Large metropolitan areas have higher costs. My groomer here in the big city charges $120 for bath, blow dry, and scissor trim. My dog's cost is extremely curly and poodle-y, so I basically get charged what a poodle owner would be charged. My GD is 50 lbs.

You can call around to local groomers to ask about cost in your area. It also depends on the size of the Doodle. I have a 25b girl that I get charged $45 but I know the larger ones cost more.

I pay $35 for Ned and $45 for Clancy - difference is size.  Our groomer charges by size and not by how much work it is - at least for us.  We go regularly and  tip well.

We are in Pasadena, CA and pay $65 for full groom, plus tip. Jaxson is an ALD and is about 35 lbs. Our groomer loves Jaxson so even if he has some mats, she will brush them out. He has never been shaved. We love her!

Hurley is about 53 lbs and a Multigen ALD with waving fleece coat.  He goes to the groomer every 3 weeks. With tip it is $65.  We live in Henderson, NV.    Hurley loves his groomer and cannot wait to get in her shop and into the play area.  So even if she did charge more I would take Hurley to her.  He gets to play with his buddies (two doodles that he plays with often and they go to the groomer with him).   She has a back room area with a child proof type gate so the trio has plenty of play room and they simply love her......
