Hi! One thing my groomer told us is to make sure they wear a rolled leather collar. This will help cut down on the matting in this area. Hope this is helpful. Terri & "mini" Cooper.

I do have a miracle product that I just discovered! I got a new shampoo from all places, from Marshall's called Natural Touch. It's a shampoo that miraculously removed almost all of Beau's tangles and matts, or certainly made them easier for me to remove, anyway. It's made by a company called Nilodor, and you can buy it online too. They have a lot of fragrances....I used the one called "Buttercream"....he smelled like a cupcake for days!!!

We took Buddy to Petsmart for his first grooming at 3 months and he did just fine. They said he was great. I think it is good to get them used to the grooming early. Instead of just the basic "puppy trim" we did the all over, taking off about a half an inch and it made a big difference in his fluff. :) We also had his nails done.

Hi! We groomed Maple from 5" down to 1" a month ago and will even her out and a little shorter this weekend. Maple is a 10 mo old f1b labradoodle. Our little 4 mo old goldendoodle f1b Lucky is looking scrappy with her tight base fur that sprays out like it's static charged. Anyone have opinions on trimming a 4 mo old? Worried that she may be affected as she's (according to those that write about doodles growth) still in her "fright" period.

Bella is an F1B Goldendoodle and we have the same problem around her neckline. We keep it clipped shorter than the rest of her coat for this very reason. In fact, we clip it down about once every two weeks and still it's a pain. If anyone has a good suggestion on keeping the mats out let us know.

Many doodles have that stripe that you mentioned. My F1 doodle Yankee has it but he doesn't shed.
