Hi all. I live in East Northport and just got a Goldendoodle pup. He's almost 12 weeks old now. Anyone close to where we live?

Ugh!  I can feel your pain... and I definitely know what you mean by 'tentative looking'  I know... and we let tori up on the furniture on beds... something I NEVERRRRR would have considered even thinking about "B.T." (before Tori).  Not even our first baby (our 125 pound GR) in our much earlier, younger years- was allowed on furniture  (but then again - he did shed - lol).  Fingers crossed for Casper!  Hey if they need a running partner - I can always ship Tori over there!  LOL We seriously have to get her back to walks - WHEN this weather gets nicer.. too cold for me still - Good luck!

He is SO constantly pet by all of us that I was extremely surprised that a tick THAT large went unnoticed...i have done a little tentative checking, but I am afraid of finding anything else! We called the vet, she said to watch him for lethargy, loss of appetite, lameness...if any symptoms appear then they would do some testing & start a course of antibiotics. I sure hope we don't get to that! He is out for a run with Kevin (the husband) right now, when he comes home I want to brush him & do a little more checking UGGGG!!!!!

Oh NO, Lori!!!  As I was reading this I said oh, no.. hope it wasn't a tick!  YUCK YUCK YUCK!   I probably would have replaced the initial consonant with another too! I had heard that there were ticks out there, but refused to believe it with all of the snow and all... I worry so much about that with Tori - being so black too....I don't like to use front-line or anything like that on her... she's so darn sensitive.. so instead, I deny her of many outdoor romp and make her a house, backyard only dog!   When I was a teen our dog - a tan lab/retriever used to get them too and we wold find many on the floors in our house - I was (and still am) so FREAKED out by them!  did yo give him the once over check down?

So...yesterday I bent down to tie my shoe & saw this round mushy thing that looked like a silvery blueberry, i picked it up...gave it a little squeeze...rollled it around in my palm trying to figure out what it was. I sat in the chair staring at it and then took it in the kitchen to show my husband. We were both staring at it when we detected the slightest movement..."um, Lor, I think it's a tick!" Well that was all I needed to hear - I started screaming at the top of my lungs...words I can't post here...words my children shouldn't have heard!!! Then I couldn't move for a few moments - I was so shocked & scared I couldn't even get over to the sink to WASH MY HANDS! So, apparently there ARE ticks out there - I guess it had been embedded in Casper since last Sunday & dropped off after a good meal of my babys blood!!! I don't think I'll be going to Blydenburgh any time soon : (
