This is for Judy Reinsberg that asked what we did to keep our ALD's safe in the car. Hershey used to get sick on rides over 1 hour so we had to crate her to keep the car clean. She is growing out of getting car sick. Now she feels secure in her wire crate and spends most of the time looking out the window, both side and out the front looking between the 2 front seats. We seat belt the crate to keep it secure. If there are any sudden stops, Hershey is safe from flying around or out the car.
We just drove up and got our sweet Stella yesterday!! What a love. Such a sweet disposition and dainty features. A real beauty inside and out. We are in love!! She is from Misty x Zion. I will have pictures up ASAP. Joy!
@ Anthony ~ Just an FYI. You asked if anyone was still using TOTW for their Manor Lake Puppy. I am no longer using it. After using up the food the breeder sent home, I started feeding Beau the TOTW I had bought here. I was told they had changed the formula and no longer had the all stages TOTW, but only had Bison & Vennison puppy formula and adult dog formula. Beaudid not want to eat the TOTW I had bought, and when he did he got major diarrhea. I do not know if it was a change in formula - or what but after 2 solid days of diarrhea, I decided to go ahead and change his food. I bought Acana Lamb Okanagon Apple (which is a limited ingredient food). OMD - it was like a miracle. He has had no issues since we changed and he loves to eat it. Charlie loves it to, so it has been a win, win situation!
I hope you have no food issues with your new little one, but if you do, you might keep this food in mind.
Hi all...Willie is 5 and we are still dealing with food issues. He is a "food snob" and totally turns his nose up at most food, unless it has something tasty added to it. We moved on from Wellness and used Merrick for awhile and now are on Instinct with kibble mixed with freeze dried raw bits. He eats the raw bits out of the bowl and tosses the kibble around his food mat. Quite the character. I may go back to the boiled chicken mixed with pumpkin..did that when he was a pup. Who knows...maybe he'll like it.
Hershey (Mini) didn't like the Wellness as a puppy, we had to bribe her to get her to finish her meals. She seems to like variety. We feed her about 1/4 cup of boiled boneless/skinnless chicken breast with the better kibbles twice a day.
When we got Charlie in Feb 2011, he came eating Wellness Puppy kibble. I kept him on that then went to Wellness Core and he also eats loves Before Grain Buffalo, so I rotate between those two.
The puppy we just picked up last week, came eating TOTW Bison & Venison. I was told Manor Lks were feeding the puppies TOTW adult food because the stools were firmer. It is my understanding that TOTW was an all life stage food until recently when they added the puppy kibble line and now the adult dog food is not all life stages. I wonder if they did not also change the ingredients slightly too because the puppy loved the TOTW that came from the breeder, but the new bag I bought, he wants nothing to do with. He wants to Before Grain Buffalo instead of his TOTW. He seems to be able to tolerate it, so that is what he is eating.
.
@Haidee - Are you adding warm water to your TOTW food as recommended by Manor Lake?
