If you're looking for a Dyson, get the purple one, The Animal, on the ball . best vacuum I've found. I got mine on sale for $450 (normally 599), and then used a 20% off coupon, so it was a great price.
And if you ever build a new home, have central vac installed. I had it in my last house...best thing in the world, especially if there are any allergy sufferers in your home.

Low cost grooming! :) Spud has never been to a groomer for several reasons. 1) he will NOT sit still and he growls sometimes. So not worth the fight. I have to groom him after a long day at the park.
2) I have a feeling since he is such a BRAT it would cost me double or triple. 3) I would rather not stress him out. It won't look as good --but I think he is cute

I am vacuuming my brains out....but maybe, since I can't add another doodle, I can add a Dyson Sweeper ( thinks that's the name) :)

However, I will say that I am thrilled with the low cost of grooming a dog who sheds and doesn't need haircuts. This 85 lb dog costs less at the groomer than my 19 lb poodle did. If he had a non-shedding coat, I'd be paying more than double.

I am not thrilled with the shedding. I've gotten used to it, but I really hate it. I lived with poodles all my life, so matting & grooming was expected and no big deal to me. The dog hair all over everything in the house is another story.
If I had wanted a huge dog that sheds, I would have adopted a German Shepherd. Jack sheds as much as one, and he is nowhere near as smart. Good thing he's adorable.

I have two doodles. One who does not shed and one who looks like black clouds float over her constantly--NO JOKE.

But I think everything is a trade off. Spud--the non-shedder takes hours to maintain, hates to be groomed, and his beautiful coat has to be kept short just because he mats :(

Starlit has a beautiful coat. She really looks like the perfect non-shedding doodle but she looses more hair than a horse in one day. She loves to be groomed and she does not mat.

What a trade off :)
