We start right after Labor Day and only have a long weekend in February. Some districts around here do have a week off in February, but they are only going to the middle or end of next week. In Michigan we usually average about 170 student days, but we count instructional minutes- not days. So we have odd start times/end times, like 8:37 am -3:32 pm. Some districts have more minutes per day and that allows them to get out a little earlier.
OK. I have to pipe up here and say that I had my last day of students last Friday, June 3rd. It was so wonderful to have some warmer weather and sunshine for a couple of days.( Saturday and Sunday) Today we had to have our a/c repaired, and though it was a chunk of change, it is so-o-o nice to have it working again! We left our back door to our bedroom open last night to let the cool air in overnight. Sweet Brulee spent most of the night on her back trying to cool her tummy! She is happy to have the a/c back up and running!
I had a chance to give Brulee a fairly good grooming, and also got a little work done in the yard. Everything out back is really in a "wild" state...lots of work to be done! It's nice to have some "me time."
