   Yesterday we had a "Voluntary Meeting (teacher workday)  and were informed that a Principal that we all LOVE  is being re-assigned to a K-8 school  :-(

    I work at a school that is half hispanic and the School Board felt it would be in that "interest" to change Principals,  We were all so very sad, and to top it off the Principal that is coming, well . . .  Lets just say that two years ago 8 teachers from that particular school  LEFT because of HER.   Rumors I hope they are wrong! !  But. . .  who know what will happen.  Big RALLY in MADISON today, I am leaving in a few minutes!   Thanks for all of the Doodle Support !

I've been watching... just terrible!  There is going to be a march in Washington in July... going to try and make it!  We're writing to our congressmen, the governor, etc...This whole thing just infuriates me!  Hang in there!

There was a puny golden handshake for teachers and my dh and I were hoping there would be one this year, but so far nothing.

Our school district gave the custodians early retirement package to encourage the older ones to retire early. 5 years of heakth care benefit &$20,000 retirement bonus! They didn't do tat to the early retirement package for the teachers last year!! Good for them, bad for the teachers.

Sue, my support is with you~ it is tought o picket in the cold weather!!! ( We did it laste year for the new contract ) I hope it does not pass, becasue that will set the precedent for all of the other states!!

Oh, I know what you mean.  I think it is reasonable to assume that something will happen with the firemen, policemen, and teachers' pension plans.  The state sees it as all that money just sitting there not being used.  And there are so many needs right now.  Why not dig into the retirement plans?  It's pretty scary alright.

We are trying to decide if we should retire this year or not.  We are concerned that if we don't retire, our pension plan will be changed and reduced AND we are concerned that if we retire our pension plan will be changed or reduced!

Well  we are taking a bus down to Madison tomorrow and on sunday  my DH thinks I have done enough and should stay home,  (our daughter came home for the weekend) Our school district  did not allow us to take today or yesterday off, so . . . .   Our Union said we can picket a half-hour before school and a half -hour after school.   so we did!!!!  lots of horns honked in our favor      One guy flipped us off   and lots of thumbs up !! ! !  ! !

I think we all have to support WI against Union bust, because if it pass there, it will coming to all of us.
