I don't even know how policy makers think... I wish they would go visit school on normal day and spend some times. In PA, they talk about teacher's raise should be according to the productivities - test scores - . It's not just the teachers who determines the level of success in kids. Really, it takes a village....

Thanks for the Chinese New Year Suggestions.  I am going to see if I can do one of these activities with my students.

Laura, I love the coloring of your pup!! So pretty!!

Yup ....she's a phantom, although she doesn't look like that anymore ...I have to upload a recent picture. Her coloring is completely different...she's more or a light cocoa color with beige. She's about 50 pounds now. She's a medium standard, although you never know. I hope she'll be the sweetest dog ever. She's really smart and has a mind of her own.

Laura - Your puppy looks like a phantom.  I have a 30-inch phantom and he is the sweetest dog ever.

It is true....many of my kid's grandmothers are not only younger, but 15 years younger......that is not only scary in terms of my own age, but at the age that lots of adolescents have had and are having babies!!!!! Getting a doodle puppy is certainly keeping my husband and I young! We've never had such an exuberant, energetic, challenging pup. Once she calms down (she's 9 months now...hopefully it won't be TOO long) she'll be fabulous.

Thanks for the web-tip!  I have an activity that I do every Chinese New Year... I send home a sheet with the animals and years of each... then I have them interview family members and relatives to see if the 'personality traits' match them... I also have them write down the year of each person - this - is for my own enjoyment (nosiness)... I get a kick out of seeing how YOUNG these parent and GRANDPARENTS get each year.  Last year one of my kids' grandmother was YOUNGER than me!  Now that's scary!!  LOL Hung Hay Fat Choy everyone!
