Oh Boy What A Day!!!! two great autistic kids one child was not having a good day, wanted to eat his lunch at breakfast time gave him crackers that helped a little but man oh man if it wasn't for my para I don't know what i would do

There is a rumor that after the first day of school (9/3/09), we will be going on strike..... I don't know what to think of that.....

I think it really depends on the principal and the district. I have had many dogs visiting my classes over the years. Therapy dogs in training have visited to show the students how they are trained and what they do. For the Year of the Dog, we had a certified therapy dog as the grand marshall of the Chinese New Year's parade. She and her handler were dressed in Chinese robes and all the students loved it. Of course, we cleared everything with the principal first and I think that trained therapy dogs are welcome most places (even hospitals and schools).

Too bad we can't take our doodles to school! I mean they ARE therapeutic, yes? Hence, THERAPY dogs! Think it would pass with the principals? ;)

School starts Monday, but sadly, due to layoffs of several teachers, I will have no work until all is straightened out and the "regular" teachers are placed. PRAY that this happens soon! I NEED to work. Happy news is that I'm going in anyway to help out. I just plain miss the kids!

I know.... Once the kids go back to school, my dogs will be really lonely and stuck...Only good thing is that I work in my own residing district and able to come home on my lunch hours to see them and to take them out.

We go back to work Thursday. :( I hate to be leaving my dood but especially my Springer who is recovering from surgery. Fall has always been hard for our dogs because they are with us 24-7 during the summer and mostly in our RV which is cozy for them.
