QUESTIONS REGARDING PUPPY BEHAVIORAL CONCERNS (less than 4 mos of age) are better placed in the Main Forum or the Puppy Madness Groups.  Once our Doodles reach the age of four to five months, they are ready to begin their obedience training, and this is the place to share experiences.

I STARTED A NEW CGC COLLAGE, BECAUSE WHEN I ADDED JACK DOODLE AND JAKE THE PICTURES BECAME TOO SMALL TO REALLY SEE....SO NOW WE HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM FOR MORE CGC GRADS!!!!!

Congratulations HATTIE!!!!!

So, the Rally people suggested to me that I should enter Maggie in the show that's coming up at the end of August. They have Rally on Friday, so we could actually do that one day. But I'm looking at…Continue

This weeks training challenge (Willow)

Started by Stacy. Last reply by Stacy Aug 8, 2019. 10 Replies

This week Willow has decided that sitting for exam is terrifying. We've practiced. She will sit and let me go over her like a champ. Feet, ears, tail, teeth. No problem. But when the instructor bent…Continue

I need a FLIP!!!  Asked for one from DH and got earring instead. Oh well, girl can't complain :)  But seriously, need a video.

Y'all would have died laughing seeing it. Peri got so excited to master something new she could barely contain herself. Barked at me. Almost jumped on me (that's NO good!).  It was so funny.

I will try to get a photo of her on her back!

Yeah Murph!

I just finished working Murphy on the 15 ft line.  He was 100% reliable on 15 repetitions of sit/stay and 15 recalls.  My trainer is due back from vacation at the end of the week, and we'll need to introduce distractions for these exercises.  He's great about providing other dogs and "giggly girlfriends" to serve as distractions.

I did find a group picture for January that ties in with our Heel or Loose Leash Walking assignment.  I still don't have our "success story" photo.  Right now I'm thinking a photo of Lady Peri "showing us her belly" might be the way to go.

Nancy, the class sounds very promising.  Here's hoping you're comfortable with the trainer.  I can't wait to hear more.  That's wonderful that your husband will also be attending with Ned.  You'll have the best trained guys on DK!

It is a group.  I want a group class because I want to hear suggestions others receive because  I probably will have that problem during the week and I will know what to do.  I also want the socialization for Clancy. And I want to be pushed by embarrassment if I don't work hard enough during the week on the lesson.  I think my husband and I are going to take Ned also.

Nancy,  Is this a group class then?  I am excited for you and anxious to hear how it goes. Good luck on Monday!

I called the trainers I had referrals for and am meeting the one Adina recommended.  He has a class beginning on Monday.  The first meeting is where he will outline the next 9 weeks, his methodology (Koehler) etc.  After that, if we are interested, we can sign up for the session.  I like this because you are hearing the sales pitch BEFORE you part with your money which is totally unlike the rest of the classes around here.  I am pretty excited and hope I like the man. If he isn't a good fit I will move on to the two others, recommended to me - over the phone they didn't seem like as good a fit, but.
