Hi Everyone! My goldendoodle & I just moved to the Salt Lake City area.... any dog park suggestions? Puppy play dates??
I'd love to--it really was a blast the last time. But I can only do it after about 3:30 pm :( is that too late?
Hi, I would be up for trying the Paul Ream wilderness park in Provo... maybe this Sat. Dec. 10th... Anyone else want to try?
I am sure parker and I would like to but we are north. So if we do a romp closer to us we will drive.
This last month was... crazy to put it lightly. I was wondering if anyone ended up doing the November 19th doodle romp? Is anyone interested for December?
I'm sorry this weekend isn't looking good for me either. My husband is now going into the hospital for a procedure on Friday and he will be recuperating this weekend. But please keep us in mind for another weekend romp that works for every body.
hi, Utah doodlers. I have been in AZ all week with out much use of a computer. I am willing to face the storm and do the romp in Provo, if anyone else wants to. If we want to wait for the first weekend that isn't stormy I could probably pull off a last minute thing. I would be willing to bring hot coco for the humans. Who still wants this weekend?
We're not going to make the romp this weekend. Looks like the weather is going to be pretty crummy and I'd like to avoid the roads if I can. Hopefully we can set up something again soon!
sure; let's do the romp on the 19th. I won't be there because my husband and I will be at a couples therapy retreat, but I'll try to get our dog sitter and/or my parents (who have two doodles) to attend. The park, again, is the Paul Read Wilderness park (It's located at 1600 west 500 north Provo) http://wikimapia.org/3265134/Paul-Ream-Wilderness-Park
I guess 1:30 pm - 3 or 4:30 pm would be the best time--but hey anyone who is actually going to be there should schedule it for another time if this time isn't good. What I noticed during this romp I organized for yesterday in having a successful romp at this particular park: everyone share a phone numbers/contact list, bring treats, cameras, coats, TOWELS, blankets, and tennis balls/toys for dogs, central location (best place) to gather is probably the playground or the north pavilion. The four dogs that were there yesterday chased the ducks, but only one dog (mine lol) jumped in (then he got right back out). Bring leashes in case dogs like to jump in water and chase ducks; ducks might leave pond and go for the safety of the river--which is fast flowing and probably dangerous to dogs who jump in. I noticed that, despite not being a "fenced in park" or official "dog park", the boundaries are basically perfect (but not impenitrable)--so have fun but still keep an eye on your dog's whereabouts
You will need towels or a place in your car where your dog won't ruin the seats; this park is called a wilderness park for a reason! My dog got muddy and wet in the forest and had leaves all over him!
Have fun and post pics on here please! I wish I could come!!!
Is the doodle romp still on for the 19th? We can come anytime after 1 pm.
