Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
This group is for those of us with puppies or dogs who look far more like the Golden or Labrador halves of themselves than the Poodle half. This group is for us to recognize the Poodle traits that shape our dogs while sharing experiences.

All of the smooth coated doodles I have met shed as do lots of the others, including my long, wavy coated guy. Because the non-shedding marketing hype is so wide-spread, this is a huge shock to many doodle owners, especially those who have more doodley looking dogs.
Amanda, Banks will probably get fluffier but more like a Golden does. His tail will get fuller and he might get "feathers" on his back legs. A little fluffier around the neck. My Pippa looks just like a tiny Golden Retriever. She is 9 months old.
Welcome Rosanne! Your puppies are just gorgeous!!! I have an open faced Doodle that is almost 9 months old. She looked just like yours do (except for the color). I have a few recent pics of her on my page. Pippa will be a mini at around 35 lbs. Are yours bigger or smaller?
Beth, Pippa is also an F1b with no poodle characteristics at all except for the smaller size. Funny how genetics work!
To answer the various questions :)..
- Cali is not a "reverse" F1b - her dad was a standard poodle and her mom an F1 golden doodle - which makes her somehow 75% poodle! You surely can't tell! :)
We love her dearly, but it looks like we have a shedder! It's at least good to hear we are not the only ones with a sweet shedding doodle without the poodle ;)
Clancy is a rescue that we got when he was two. He looks doodlish but is a terrible shedder. Count your lucky stars if your shedding doodle at least has a shorter coat! :-} We tried cutting his coat shorter once - he looked terrible, so we live with it, but . . . . .
