Where's the Poodle in my Doodle?

Hi, new to the group. Our dog Fred looks like a fatter, black version of  Murphy and Luna. I read somewhere that if they do not have curly fur on their face by 8 weeks, then they never will. Luckily we love Fred just the way he is, but the shedding is little bit more than we expected.

Welcome Kate! Simba is really cute. She looks similar to my Murphy who is about 8 1/2 months and still very retriever-ish.

Hi I'm new to this group. I have Lucca (almost 3) who has the Doodle coat and Izzy (10 months) with more of the GR coat but the doodle face:). They are both from the same breeder. Mom's are sisters and they have different dads. Izzy comes from a litter of 4 and the other 3 have the full coats. She has a full wavy coat on her back and front legs but her back legs are pretty short except for her feet. It looks like she has slippers on:) She has an incredible personality and we loves her to pieces!!

Wow Murphy really DOES look a lot like Luna! We looked at Luna's pictures and it was like looking at Murphy's future. So interesting how their coats change. Luna is so cute and looks like a wonderful dog. How old is she now?

Murphy is adorable!  She looks a LOT like Luna did at that age (except for the colour).  The weird "racing stripe" of wavy hair will go away, Luna went through 2 phases like that.  Now her coat is a lot more consistent, even though she's not done growing it in yet.

This is Murphy. She is 5 month old and as you can see the GR has definitely won out. She has some waves coming in on her back but that seems to be the only poodle in her. She is sweet as can be and so much fun!

LeAnne - WHAT A CUTIE!!!!!  He does look like a retriever more, but I can NOT wait to see how he doodles out in a few month - Ooo - I want to squeeze him!!!!  Too CUTE!

This is Maverick.  We were told he was a Golden Retriever/Parti Poodle mix.  Most people who meet him think he is a GR / Collie or Australian Shephard mix.  Anyone out there with something similiar to him?  I wish he was what we wanted, but he doesn't look poodle at all.  And he is shedding a TON right now.  He's nine months.  I love him to pieces and would never let him go.  But I would like to be able to tell those people that insist that he is not a goldendoodle, that he really is.

Happy New Year Everyone! 

 

I've been away from this site for some time, but decided to come back today and so glad to have found this section! We finally belong now!

My puppy does not look like what she's supposed too at all. She looks like a mini golden retriever or duck toller actually. We still get daily comments about her looks, or lack of and shocked, surprised people when we tell them she is not a toller but a doodle instead. We are still kind of thinking maybe she was possibly switched at birth because she doesn't resemble her parents either. One is an F1 Goldendoodle and the other a Multigen Labradoodle. A DNA test is possible in the future, but nonetheless, whatever breed she happens to turn out to be, she won't be loved any less!

 

y puppy is 1 years old today. At what point will she remain the same colour? We are still seeing white coming in, but she isn't changing colour as much as she was when she was younger. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a bunch :)
