That's great news, Sophie! I hope she gets her puppy play back as they wean her off her medications. Bob, did they ever figure out what this was or how it happened? It sounds like she's getting very good care. Hang in there.

I know it has been forever since I gave an update on Sophie but it has been slow going and lots of testing. I am very happy to say that her platelet count has been holding at above normal now and her liver function test are all normal. She is back to a normal weight, ok maybe a pound or two over but we are ok with that for now. She is slowly tapering off her prednisone and even showing interest in playing with her toys again even if its only a few mins every other day.

we just got her blood work back today. her platelets are great but her liver function came back high. on a scale of 1-10 they said a 5. it could just be from the Imuran so we stopped that today. she is still kind of blah not a 15 month old puppy attitude. she has gained 4 lbs and still eats and drinks normally.

Thanks Bob. Good to hear that Sophie is still improving. You most definitely are taking great care of her--that meal is a dog's dream :) Praying that she will be off her meds and fully recovered soon. Keep us posted.

her counts are up but she is still a little off. I am calling the vet tomorrow since I didn't here from them over the weekend about tapering off her meds. Once the immune suppressant is gone I think she will start to be her normal self again. We were able to switch back to kibble and she ate it with no hesitations. The 4 or 5 cans of fromms shredded pork or chicken and their pate, some pumpkin, and yogurt was a lot of prep. Congrats on the little chocolate doodle. He looks like from his parents he will be a nice size fluff ball.

Bob I also loved the coat on that adorable curly black doodle.  She was a sweety pie too.  Sunny, the breeder, said that there was a chance that the black pups would turn to silver.  It has happened with a few of her black pups in the past.  My pup's coat may fade to a cafe color, only time will tell.  Dashiell's coat was beautiful and silky smooth.  I have never felt a smoother coat before in my life.  And the big Doodle hug, i just wanted to melt.  I would've taken him home had she let me :).  How is Sophie?  I hope that she is still on a fast pace to recovery and back to her normal self.

oh I want them all. I do love the coat on the little black curly girl but the color on the chocolate boy is great to. I would imagine that the little girl will turn some what brown and black when she gets her adult coat and the chocolate will be lighter brown with maybe lighter tones of the moms coat. either choice it looks like you are going to end up with a great doodle.

Just saw your pics and posted a comment there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get the little boy! Glad your visit turned out so well. I looked at the breeder's website and had to stop myself from saying, "my next dog..." Very excited for you, you're going to be a great doodle mom :))

My visit was wonderful.  I just spilled my guts in the main forum, including pics.  I won't write a book here but I will say that I am almost 100% sure that we will get the male.  He was our first pick, although I love my other 2 picks too, and his temperament was excellent!!  The breeder will let us know on Wednesday.
