This morning Belle and I went on a pack walk in a forest with lots of underbrush. Belle and several of her buddies rolled in some sort of vegetation that left millions of little, tiny round stickies…Continue

Does anyone know if the 3 doodles in the Facebook post this morning from Doodle Famiily have been reunited with their family yet? The picture shows 3 collared, seemingly well-groomed doodles in a…Continue

I apologize for repeating a question I asked before, but I forgot (oh my aging brain) and can't find the previous answer. How do I send a friend request to someone? Thanks.Continue

I'll start by saying that Belle, who turned 3 in June, has never had a problem with the booming noises (thunder, fireworks, even guns) that periodically plague our neighborhood. She first came home in August, so by her first 4th of July here, she was already a year old. I had been reading Doggy Dan's training advice, and convinced a number of (somewhat dubious) dog-owning friends to gather with us and their puppies in a large living room supplied with lots of antlers, Himalayan chews,…

My mother has never enjoyed dogs. She also has never understood why any sane person would want a canine companion. Years ago when my then partner gave me an adorable puppy for Valentine's Day, my Mom's response was "are you going to keep her?" (Actually the dog stayed around much longer than that partner.) So I gave up long ago showing my Mom cute pictures, and telling her funny anecdotes, about the many wonderful dogs who have graced my life.
Then Mom, who is 103, fell…

I have suspected for a while that despite all my efforts (a la Doggy Dan) to establish myself as the leader of the pack, Belle has concluded that I am here for her entertainment. I carefully refrain from playing with her if she brings me a toy to start her favorite game of fetch, as only I am supposed to initiate play. That doesn't stop her from constantly bringing me a variety of toys she hopes I will throw. One day, I was standing by a counter folding laundry and suddenly a soggy tennis…

I wrote a while ago about Belle (14.8 lbs) failing the admission evaluation at doggy day care because she didn't know how to behave with other, mostly bigger, dogs. The owner of a small local day care on a farm agreed to work with Belle (whom she refers to fondly as her "wackadoodle"). Belle started playing under close supervision with a few calm, small dogs. Gradually she was allowed to run and play (mostly run) with a variety of larger, but trustworthy, dogs. Belle wants to show you…
ContinueHi Andrea--if you have questions, you can send them to me now. I will try to help--I assume this is Belle that is the guardian dog? And that she will go to the breeder to have the litter?
Many many thanks for meds for giving me hope for Roo. Merry Christmas to you and yours
Hi Andrea - Thanks for your generous offer to send the unused meds. I can certainly use the Vetmed and Silex for Roo. I am so sorry that you had the opportunity to have to have these on hand. It's so hard..!
It's sounds like you are having a good time with Bella and so is she.
My address is 31 Hidden Valley Road, Monrovia CA 91016. Please let me know the shipping cost and your address and I will send you a check.
Nice to have you as a friend on DK
I love my camera! Cameras take such better pictures - inconvenient in that you have to actually carry them with you though if you want to take a picture. I finally got a smart phone but it takes such crummy pictures :-{.
8 pounds it so tiny! The smaller they are, the sooner they are done growing. Ned grew very little past 6 months and was done by 8 months, and he is 28 pounds - technically a mini but huge compare to Belle. She is so cute. I love her coloring, especially her eyes.
