I have been working a lot of overtime and so for the first time 2 months or so ago I took Murphy to a groomer that was recommended to me. They did a nice job at a reasonable price. Well a week ago I took him there again and I am not happy.....when my wife picked him up they had trimmed his eyebrows short and left his top hi and puffy not natural at all. Soooo....It will grow back and I am going to be grooming him the next time. For now I am going to use the thinning shears and get his top…

A few days ago Murphy came running into the house and he was mud halfway up his legs so I decided to give him a quick bath in the tub because it was already dark outside and the Sandy hurricane came all the way here to Michigan and was causing rainy nasty weather problems ......so I put him in the tub turned on the water and the sand just poured out of his paws and he looked at me like "what the hell is going to happen now" so I had a bucket but he is just too big to wet down with a bucket…

I hope things are going better for you and your family! Hug Murphy for me! : )
Hey! How are things going? You did a great job grooming Murphy! Things are pretty quiet here with just my two dogs.
There is someone from Cincy wanting to meet Clementine. She may be going to her new home soon. I have received several apps for Clover so he may be leaving soon too. It makes me sad to even think about it as they have been such great dogs.
Here is a link to Nancie and Gracie Doodle. She was the one I was talking about that does such a good job grooming Gracie.

Hi David, I see you joined the Ohio group, and welcome to DK. I live in northeast Ohio, but have family I visit in Toledo. My dogs always come with me for the visit, they love the ride. Murphy is beautiful. Margaret and Pebbles
David, your Murphy looks gorgeous. Riley is a soft fleece non shedding Labradoodle. I do use the clippers under his ears and around his neck. For that part I use a clipper guard at the longest possible. I use the no 10 blade underneath and just under his tail area but be careful because the no. 10 goes to the skin and you can do too much really easily by mistake. I use the shears everywhere else. I have three a straight blade, a curved one and a blunt ended one for the face area. I pluck out the hair in his ears with my fingers and use an ear powder for this job and clean his teeth with an old toothbrush and doggy toothpaste. I do brush him at least every second day which takes about 20 minutes as you have to go right to the skin and do it section by section otherwise you can miss bits that quickly get matted. I am only a few steps in front of you so no expert but I think that any mistakes are my own and the investment in the shears/clippers etc are saving me a fortune. Next investment is a grooming table with the arm bit that will keep him still. lol Best of luck to you.. DK is a brilliant forum with some fantastic people who have great knowledge that they are happy to share plus some funny ones too!
