Thanks for the info on the coat products, I will look into them. Stan is really against getting him cut. I tell him Jett gets hot on our walks now and it is not very warm yet. If we do get him cut to about 1 inch, do they leave the head and tail long or longer?
Good Morning,
Jett seems to be getting more matting of his coat. I'm wondering if this is due to his puppy coat comming out. His coat is so pretty, long and wavy, I was hopping not to have to get him cut; at least I don't want him cut real short. Do you find that when the coat is long it is common to become matted?
Dixie, do all puppies shed their puppy coat? I have noticed Jett's coat is a little bit more course but that is about it...he hasn't been dropping clumps of hair. His coat is about the same fleece as Truffle's. I do see that is he getting some matting, mostly on his chest and tummy. I've been brushing out or cutting them off.
Hi Dixie,
I love this site! I just finished reading the comments on the "Puppy Madness" group, and I wanted to thank you again for leading us to Casey. I realize how lucky we've been with him! No behavior problems at all that weren't very easily managed. He just wants to please, so obedience is not an issue. Thanks a million for the perfect furbaby!
Hi Dixie. Yes, Cassie is a beauty (hard to fully capture in a photo) and such a happy, playful, and mellow dog. She has brought a lot of joy to our home. Thank you.
Hi Dixie! I am so in awe of the beauty in your home right now. I just popped over to your website and snuck a peak at your puppies and Catherine's as well. The puppies all just take your breath away : ) Of course the radiating beauty also comes from the obvious outpouring of your heart ~ such a wonderful example you serve for all of us to take note of and to hope we can immitate in our contributions in the future as well. It has been such a pleasure getting to 'meet' you through Catherine's circumstances, I hope someday we can do so in person. Many blessings to you and your household ~

Hi Dianne,
Catherine and her dogs were staying with her son not that far away from me, so she was able to bring Aly and Gwennie over on Thursday. She kept Logie with her as he has separation anxiety and we were afraid he might try to escape. Her other dog and 2 puppies went to a friend of hers.
Aly and Gwennie are doing well. Aly's puppies are due on the 26th. They both ate all their food yesterday, and they are taking treats and gradually getting to know my doodle family. I know they miss their mommy.
Catherine called yesterday. She is heading down to Santa Fe today with lots of supplies. They do have a metal building that made it through the storm, so I think they are going to try to make that into living quarters. Right now there is no gasoline for generators, electricity, or running water. The hurricane spawned a tornado that uprooted the oak trees on their property. I'm not sure how much of their house, if any, is still standing.
We are doing OK and I don't think there is anything we need. We will just play it by ear. There probably won't be any significant expense until the puppies get older, so it's fine with me to ride it out for the time being. They may or may not be here that long, and we might as well wait and see. Thank you for offering to help! I keep telling Catherine that I knew immediately I was supposed to do it, and if something like this happened to me I hope someone would be there for me and my furbabies.
We may have something available after the conference. We plan to video it, but it will be AMATEUR! I don't know if we will end up with anything we can copy and disseminate or not. I wish you could come. I know how hard it is to make arrangements when you live our lifestyle!
