Just wanted to share! Brulee is getting a new sister tomorrow. She's another Manor Lake pup...in fact she and Brulee have the same Dad and their Moms are sisters. I'm hoping the sweet personality of Brulee is there in ??? Oh, my golly, she doesn't have a name! Won't sleep much tonight! :)
She's a minature, chocolate, and is 16 weeks old. Saw her little picture and fell in love! Now I think our cup runneth over! I am so excited. :)

I knew when my children were small that their little ears picked up all sorts of things that DH and I said. This morning I learned how my little Dood is listening, as well. She has a lot of fun watching and barking at little critters she sees on our tv in the family room. Doggies and kitties are her personal favorites, and she will race to the tv and stand on her back legs while wagging her tail and growling! So, dh and I laugh and talk about how Brulee wants to play with the doggie on…

Just wondering if anyone is heading to Yellowstone from June 23-27. My sister-in-law and I will be in my little trailer, in West Yellowstone over that time. We'll play there for a short time and then move up to West Glacier for about a week. Then we'll move to East Glacier/Wateron for another 6 days, before heading back to Utah. I will leave Brulee with DH, as there are so many places you can't take pets. It would be happier, I think, to be in her own space. I will miss her…

Ellen, I'm new to Doodlekisses and just joined the M.L. group. Looks like we have a 'sister' of your Brulee who's mom was Abby and dad was Mozart. Our little girl is named Hershey and is 8 months younger then Brulee. Hershey was born Feb 1st , 2011. Hershey is 14.5 inches tall and weights 16 pounds.
Thanks for your post. As I mentioned I was trying to get Charlie to eat Acana, but he wants nothing to do with. I bought some Blue Buffalo Wilderness and he really likes it so I we are switching to that. It is rated a 5 star food so hopefully we are ok. He seems to like a change occasionally so I am going to also try the Orijen too since everyone raves about it. In our area, you can only find it at one animal clinic.
Have a wonderful holiday season with your family and two doods.
Linda
Charlie is 11 months old. He weighs 39 lbs. His daddy is Cosmo (37 lbs) and his mom is Aero (30lbs). He is a medium size. When I took him to the vet last week, she suggested he now go on a maintenance food and that I should not feed him one that is for all life stages. She did say he was not overweight, but just right. The food choices nowadays are overwhelming. Did you continue to feed Wellness (the food Manor Lake feeds) to Brulee after he reached 1 year? I bought some Acana Pacific (fish) three days ago because everyone seems to rave about Acana brand and he will not touch it (and then I also noticed it is for all life stages! He also has a thing about the size of the food - he like the round form (not disc shape). He does chew each piece and seems quite particular.
Charlie's personality from day one has been very laid back and there is not a person he does not like. However, he will shy away from rambuncious dogs and wants to visit the handlers instead. I think he will make a great therapy dog (either hospital or reading dog at library) He attained his CGC at 8 months old and he is very responsive to my commands. As you can tell - I just adore him!
Yes, when we do get another, it will definitely be from Manor Lakes. I like the fact they do the temperament testing and you know pretty much within reason what their personality will be.
We have a lot to be thankful for don't we??
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Sorry...the comment loses it's meaning when I don't say "your profile picture"!
Hi Ellen!
I would never be able to stay on a diet at your house! I'd be thinking of Creme Brulee and Tiramisu all day long! ;-)
So it sounds as if Brulee is cool with the new little interloper on her bed with her people? :-) That is so great. Kudos to Brulee for being so welcoming to Tira!
Thank you for your kind words about Haus. He was my everything. :-)
I'm thinking I should wait until the new guy's eyes are open before getting serious about a name. I'm just so excited!
I totally LOL'd at this: "Tira was in the crate, yesterday, for 30 minutes, or so, so she would take a nap. She vocalized for a few seconds, and then fell asleep!" --That is too funny!
I am *intending* to crate the new fella. We'll see how it goes. I am really going to give it the old college try. Haus probably spent a total of 10 minutes in his crate during his 12 year life. ;-) I work from home, so it's a little easier to keep an eye on doggie, but during puppyhood if I'm not home, I can see the beauty of a crate if not for safety alone! Keep me posted on how it goes with Tira and share any tips and tricks b/c I am going to need them! Crate training is a 1st for me!
