Hey everyone, long time no see! I just wanted to write because we recently experienced a really big scare in the family and I thought it would be worth posting a reminder.
My sister's 2 year old Maltipoo almost died this last week, after getting into gum inside of her purse while they were asleep. He ate around 15 pieces of the gum - it was Ice Breakers and the first ingredient is xylitol. They rushed him to the emergency vet when they found out what he'd done - and they kept…

Hey all, just wanted to post another photo update of Darwin! He turned 5 in May which is completely crazy to me - I can't believe it's been 5 years! In some ways he still seems so puppyish - as the photos will demonstrate. Yet in other ways he has definitely grown. Here are some of the ways he has changed and the ways he hasn't.
What hasn't changed
-He is still a complete goofball.
-He still loves all people and children.
-He is still treat…

Hello everyone, just wanted to give a Darwin update it's been a while! He is getting fluffy again and he's so ready for Spring - because it means we are outdoors a lot more! Here are some photos of our recent adventures.
In January he we had fun playing out in the snow, looking back at these I'm even happier that Spring is here!…

Finals are over, it's getting cold (REAL cold!) and the holidays are here! Things could not be better. I thought I'd post an small update on Darwin, and add our holiday cards for this year.
First off - I will make an admission. This semester I got super busy, and for the first time, Darwin became quite matted. I am usually very diligent about brushing him, so this is the first time he's been matted to this level. I feel terrible about it, and I really didn't even realize how…

Welcome back, Camilla! I recently resurfaced on DK from being MIA for 5 years. I just love seeing pix of Darwin. Do you have any current ones to share? :O)
HI, Camilla! I have not been on DK for awhile, but I decided to contact you for your photography resource! I remember that you had Photography classes by Camilla or something like that on Photography Group. I am wondering if you would be able to send me the link to the lessons you posted..? I recently purchased Nikon D7000 used from my friend, and I would like to practice! I remember how helpful you were on the photography group!
I can't wait to hear about your trip. We took that one last June and the weather was perfect. I forgot to mention that the Glass Museum displays glass that has been tumbled and worn by the ocean and found on the beaches.
What a great trip you have planned. I can't wait to see your pictures. You are going to find California's coast breathtaking (Goat Rock near Bodega Bay)
the redwoods huger than huge,
and the drive-through the tree in Leggett is supposedly better than the other one in the Redwoods.Be sure to visit the Big Foot Museum in Willow Creek, And be sure to visit the Glass Museum in Fort BraggAnd there is a very cute lunch place in tiny, touristy Trinidad called the Trinidad Eatery.
I envy you going to Tilamok. We stopped there once years ago and I got some fabulous cheese.
I absolutely love all of the pictures you post of Darwin! He is such an awesome doodle!
Hi Camilla, I love your pictures. Darwin is so photogenic. What camera do you use?
I looked at the Millers link but it says you have to be a professional. Your photos certainly are professional, but do you actually have to be a professional photographer?
Did I ever show you this? I can't remember. This is the website I made for my mom. We've actually raised like $15,000 and are going to give away scholarships every year. Those little colored shapes in the corner were her life's work.

I think you mentioned that Darwin has red patches on his elbows and hiney like Owen has. I took the dogs to the vet this week and asked about this condition. The vet immediately asked me if we had cement at our house here and didn't have it in CA. Yes! We had no cement in CA and there is a cement patio in our back yard now. She said that the patches were from rubbing on the cement when sitting and lying down. Just thought I would let you know, in case Darwin has cement in his life. ???
