Today, as I was preparing dinner, and assuming the tears for the day were done, I opened the mail. Inside a large envelope was another smaller envelope and a piece of white paper. On the lower left hand corner of the most wonderful black paw print ! I just started bawling. I opened the small envelope there was a sympathy card from my vet with a beautiful note. Hi All ~



I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words, reassurance and prayers. I haven't been able to respond in a timely manner because I can only get through typing one sentence at a time before the tears cloud my vision. I knew it would be hard, but not this hard. What makes it even worse is seeing my 11 year old son struggle with it. Hopefully once we pick up Boomers ashes, it will give him some comfort.

These are pictures of my boy Boomer taken this morning. With a heavy heart I look at these pictures and wonder if I did the right thing. Earlier this afternoon, we said good bye to Boomer. He was so happy today. This is the very first time I took him to the vet that he wasn't shaking in fear.......first time in 14 years.
