Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Milt likes to help out here and there, basically wherever he can. I was a little surprised that he snuggled up with all the clean laundry. He generally prefers smellier, messier things. …

Despite Milton's young age, his notoriety has already far surpassed both mine and Jeff's. I mean our goldendoodle has his very own blog, AND he was just recently featured on The Dallas Morning News website. What more could a dog ask for?…

Ok, well, I loved the Mesquite Doggie Splash Day so much (Milt did too!) that I persuaded Jeff to join us at another one in Rowlett that Sunday. This time I nabbed my SLR camera, and I got busy taking shots of our goldendoodle in mid-leap springing into the pool. I now have a smorgasbord of fantastic photos, and I think I might just have to add another framed picture to my Wall of Milton. …

Milt and I are regulars at Michaels primarily because I always have 40% off coupons, and, more importantly, dogs are allowed inside. Well, one cashier, Kim, is just wild about my Milton, and she always coos over him and ushers us through to her line. During one of our many conversations, Kim told me about Doggie Splash Days in the Dallas-area. What exactly is a Doggie Splash Day? Many towns will close their pools at the end of the summer season, and when they…

On Milton's frequent jaunts to the local park, with Jeff in tow, he likes to play ball -- lots and lots of ball! That's his passion. I think Jeff's enthusiasm got our goldendoodle hooked on retrieving, but he swears it was me in Milt's early training days when I used to roll a ball back and forth countless times in our apartment. Regardless, Milt is one happy, happy boy when his mouth is stuffed full of a bright yellow tennis ball. Now, here's the kicker. At…

I am not terribly cultured when it comes to cinema, but one of my favorite movie lines is, "Fat guy in a little coat." Where's that from? You probably know it too if you grew up in the 90s. That's right -- Tommy Boy -- with the talented, sadly deceased, Chris Farley, and the still vibrant, David Spade. The background around that line is the hefty Farley squeezes into the petite Spade's suit jacket in order to annoy him, which it ultimately does. Well,…

A few weeks ago, Jeff's Aunt Carol (I actually have an Aunt Carol too!) invited me to a Thirty-One party at her house. I was completely unaware of this particular home consulting business, but I had been to other parties, such as Longaberger, baskets, and Lia Sophia, jewelry, when I was younger. Thirty-One sells all different sorts of bags, in countless patterns, for everyday use at the pool, in the grocery store, or while at work. The company is actually…

Well, I've been busy traveling again; this time I took a brief jaunt to Central New York visiting my mom and family. School starts up next week, and I needed a little time swimming and sunbathing on Owasco Lake to really call it a summer. Unfortunately, the Milt did not join me because the 25-hour road trip last year nearly killed me.
What was the boy to do? Our goldendoodle stayed home with his Daddy Dog. Just to…

June 1st marked the one-year anniversary of Milton the Goldendoodle's addition to our family. Now today, July 30th, marks the two-year wedding anniversary of Jeff and me!…

"Sometimes we hurt those we love the most." This quote sprang to my mind when I saw what was left of Milton's best toy in the whole-wide world, or so I thought.…

For Milton, our countless walks throughout the neighborhood are more like hunting exhibitions. He delights in yapping at clusters of birds as they up and fly away. Squirrels, also known as tree rats, are favorites to dash after in fast pursuit. As one can imagine, I am always the bothersome tag-a-long who never moves quite quickly enough for Milt to seal the deal and grab his prey. He probably thinks if I wasn't always holding him back, he would be fully able to…

Jeff and I just returned from quite the adventure! We tackled the continent of Asia. Well, actually, we visited Thailand. The funny part about our trip was quite frequently when I mentioned to someone that we were going there the immediate response was, "Why?" My answer to that was, "Why not?" Growing up, my dad instilled in me a great fondness for travel, and I am still quite enamored by it. There is just nothing better than immersing yourself in a completely…

The Milt Dog and I are regulars at our local White Rock Lake Dog Park. Even in this supreme heat, we like to stop by two -- three times per week to chase down balls both in and out of the water. Recently though, a new dog park AND human park was built in Dallas -- Klyde Warren Park (http://www.klydewarrenpark.org/). While this park was being created, Jeff and I, along with friends, attended a comedy show, The Second…

This past week a whirlwind of two adults, four children, and three Jack Russell terriers descended on our house, flew around for three days of madness, and then swept out of here with a flourish. It was a flurry of excitement, pandemonium, and controlled chaos but most of all a heck of a good time. Milt, of course, was right in the midst of it all and loving it!
Jeff's brother, Joel, and sister-in-law, Chris, are a military family, so they are driving…

You know I love this furry boy of mine, but Milton and I had a bad episode of tough love at the dog park on Monday night. That evening I was attempting to quell Milt's energy before bed, so we arrived to the park late at about 8:00P.M. As usual, the dood had a magnificent time swimming after balls, chasing his doggie pals, and most importantly, soaking up water to cool down. …

Milton and I like to take little field trips together on long hot summer days. One of our favorite stops is Michael's, which, of course, is followed by a quick trip to PetSmart, located directly next door. The two of us usually amuse ourselves in the doggie section of the store, sniffing the bones and looking for pups to greet, but on this occasion, I deviated from our usual path, and we decided to peruse the bird selection.…
