According the The American Humane Association, October is Adopt-A-Dog Month. 

When I was ready to accept full responsibility for a pet, another life, I never – ever thought about adoption. My ignorance to how many dogs were waiting for a good loving home is what led me to a fabricated breeder (puppy mill factory in disguise), where I met 9 week old Harley……

Planning a girls weekend and no doodles allowed is not easy, however this one turned out to be a success after all.

Harley hates to see me leave with an overnight bag. He makes it very difficult.

I must confess though, I never paid “close” attention to the interactions until Harley & Leo entered my life. Now I am consistently fascinated with the unspoken language between the two.

My Boys are fine, but life for me is truly the pits when the Boys aren’t feeling well. It’s the one time when I wish either they could speak or I could bark!

When Leo’s not at 100% he’ll look at you with those heart breaking eyes and try as he might, we just can’t seem to connect.

I knew my Boys were fond of riding. They are (what one would call) my “road dogs” (pun intended)…

The Boys love to ride in the car, no matter where I go.

The car is always packed and ready for any unscheduled, impromptu excursions. And they are always up for a road trip!

What a surprise to receive so many inquires about whether I’d post a follow up to the “Back to School Blues.” I thought “oh what the doodle”, and the Boys and I trekked to the bus stop yesterday afternoon to meet the bus. Hope you enjoy their follow up rendition called -

DH found a local Marina which is a true hidden treasure. Visually attractive, close to home, and tucked away making it wonderfully peaceful and inviting. We love to take the Boys there……

Do you ever wonder what goes on in a dogs head? I have on many occasions.

Sometimes it seems as if they want to tell me stuff, but because “speech” communication hasn’t quite evolved between us, other means will just have to do.

Not too long ago, Leo taught us the word “stop.” Today he’s decided to share his teaching technique with all of you…

But…

Our six week Agility Class (which turned into nine weeks), came to an end this past Saturday. Between the rain, and Leo’s mystery illness, we were unable to continue our remedial practices during the week, and boy did it show.

After our final session ended, pet parents interested in signing up for the upcoming class gathered to watch an “Agility Demo” and yours truly was asked to perform……

Perhaps when you read this title you were thinking Leo has successfully completed Agility Training. Not yet. Barring clear skies and dry ground we should have our last and final class this Saturday.

When I titled this post: “I’m Certified” I am referring to ones sanity when it comes to her doodles!

The rational part of me questions my deductive reasoning when I think about the things I do with/for them.

I mean really – did I ever envision myself:
