Just throwing this out to my DK friends for some interesting discussion. Last night a news story ran about keeping your pets safe and healthy during the winter months. It was suggested that you should increase the amount you feed your pet (dog / cat) due to changes in their metabolism....burn more energy to stay warm so they need more food. Interesting? Does anyone feed more in the winter? Does this mean I can eat more too? Smile.

At the end of the day, dogs may rely on humans, but they also use their skills to manipulate their owners and the world they live in. And even though dog owners like to think they're in command, the professor says it may actually be Fido who is really in charge.

Due to poor weather conditions last fall, our pumpkin harvest was smaller than we expected. This is why you may be having difficulty finding Libby’s Pumpkin (pure pumpkin NOT pie filling). Unfortunately, we will continue to be in short supply until our next harvest in the fall.

Okay friends I'm going to try and put this into words. Astro and I attended a no jumping class last night. It was good! This is funny...you use no words/commands/hand signals. Our trainer explained that dogs learn best when they make the decision to do something on their own and are rewarded for "it". No pushing down their bottom, no yelling out a command, no bullying them.

Yesterday I had a fabu party at my house. The doodlicious Lady Peri stopped by with her people and so did my half brother Timbow. Timbow traveled over four hours to come visit. We were supposed to all meet at the Dog Park...but alas the weather did not cooperate. My people said we will have our Doodle Day at home. Okay I'm sorry, but really! If you (as an owner/human) don't have a personality....PLEASE don't get a Doodle. My daughter and I were at the pet store yesterday and we encountered a couple with two dogs - - one looking very much like a Doodle. With a BIG smile I ask, "Is that a Doodle?" I think my BIG red 71lb+++ seven month old puppy has officially defeated Halloween. And honestly I'm not too certain how the other upcoming holidays will fare.
