Pumpkin Shortage....fyi

Due to poor weather conditions last fall, our pumpkin harvest was smaller than we expected. This is why you may be having difficulty finding Libby’s Pumpkin (pure pumpkin NOT pie filling). Unfortunately, we will continue to be in short supply until our next harvest in the fall.

Early in the harvest last year, it looked like we would have plenty of pumpkin, but Mother Nature had other plans for us. The heavy rains throughout the harvest have made it nearly impossible to pick our pumpkins. That's because tractors and other equipment were not able to move through the saturated fields. We hope she's better to us this season, giving us a little less rain and a lot more sunshine because we are already planning to plant even more acres of pumpkins. This way everyone (AND Doodles too) can enjoy delicious pumpkin.

Thanks for the info. I feed Tigger pumpkin frequently when his tummy is out of whack. I thought my grocery stores just didn't want to carry it except at Thanksgiving.

I have NEVER been able to find the plain pumpkin where I live, so I have been envious of you all who could get it. I hope to find it in the future.

I have two cans of pumpkin, right here, ready to ship to the highest bidder! Cooper hates the stuff, but I do use it to cook goodies for him so he gets his fair share! :)

Same GA boat here Joyce. Not only do I give Callie pumpkin (she loves it) but I cook with it a lot too. Perhaps this is G-d telling me to stop making pumpkin cheesecake! Mmmmm....cheesecake.

I've been hearing about pumpkin shortages for awhile now. Who would have known they were so picky about the weather!
I haven't had any trouble finding it in my area, which figures because i only keep it on hand for emrgencies or fosters; Jack hates it!

Well, that sure explains our difficulty trying to get canned pumpkin in GA. January thru spring....we had to wait until we got back to MD. Thanks for clearing that up Yvonne.
