I think my BIG red 71lb+++ seven month old puppy has officially defeated Halloween. And honestly I'm not too certain how the other upcoming holidays will fare. You see, as many in our neighborhood do, we like to decorate for the little ghosts and goblins that are sure to come knocking at our door on Halloween eve. Well, Astro seems to think we have decorated the yard for his joy and amusement. To date he has eaten a pumpkin, chewed two other pumpkin tops, punctured the inflatable ghost beyond repair, dragged the inflatable cat around the yard numerous times and probably done unmentionable acts to it and now, this morning, he has destroyed the little stick in the ground pumpkin lights. He is a puppy so we, of course, will forgive him. We do not forgive daddy who was supposed to be supervising him!

LOL I was just looking at your pics and thinking that he looks so calm for 7 months! This gives me hope that at 8 months our Triton is somewhat "normal"!!! :o)

Maybe the "disaster area" he left with the decaying pumkins, the mangled, tortured ghost and the assaulted cat will be SCARIER for the kids. Happy Halloween!!

Astro has a spectacular coat. Like having an Irish setter coat with a doodle brain--great combo I'd think.

We had a table top tree last year - first time EVER and Ned is not our first dog. However, he is our first counter-surfing pup. Table top tree was not safe either! This year he is older and should be able to handle a real down on the floor tree...... well, hopefully, he will.

I can't wait to hear what he does to your Christmas tree! I guess your yard has lost some of it's spookiness - but Astro had FUN! Cimmy would join him. I do my best to make sure that she can't get anything except for the occasional paper towel. :0)

Front yards for the public, back yards for puppies! So glad I don't have children and don't get involved in the decorating stuff though, as you say waaaaay too much of a temptation.

I don't decorate outside, because that would be the fate of all things displayed. Winston just turned one so last year was not bad at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He was to small to get into much trouble and he was not left unsupervised in the living room. This year is going to be a different story. No pumpkins real or other wise on the floor or at the front door. The Christmas tree is already up and off the floor, but no packages will be on the floor. The house is defiantly going to have a different look. But it is easier on all of us just to change how we decorate, then spending time getting upset about what Winston has done now. Just like having the 2 year olds again. Just like the kids it should pass hopefully.

I forgot to add that Peri deflated her neck ring (after spay surgery). No doubt she would deflate a giant ghost! Wish you could have captured him on video :)

Poor Yvonne! I learned when Artie was a puppy, and I tried to decorate outside for Christmas 5 times - before giving up, that all that fun stuff is just too tempting!! Especially the inflatable cat!!
