Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi everyone....i sort of dropped off the face of the dk earth for the last 4 months....just wanted to say Duncan is doing well. He's 5 now. We had a few issues over the last couple of months with increased thirst and some head tremors. Ultimately blood and urinalysis were good and so we're thinking it has been anxiety but who knows.
He's been loving all the snow we have been dumped with here on the east coast. He REALLY loves the new fuzzy throw i bought for my bedroom and on a sad…

First, A Happy St. Paddy's Day to you all from me and Duncan O'Doodles.
Also, I wanted to share something very dear to me....I was filmed recently for a video series that Dicks Sporting Goods is doing called "Every Runner Has A Reason". They are featuring 13 stories of runners who have different reasons for why they run. Anyway, mine is up and i'd love for you all to…

Just wanted to wish you all a happiest of holidays from me and the duncan doodle. It's been a rough year on DK reading about doodles with health issues or who have crossed to the rainbow bridge. It's also been a wonderful year to see lots of new puppy photos of doodle family additions. May the season be a time to reflect on sad memories and re-live the happy memories.
Duncan just turned 4 yesterday and i'm so lucky and grateful to have such an amazing furry companion. I'm…

I drove up with the Dunkster to Westport, NY (Lake Champlain/Adirondacks) for a quick weekend trip. My friend and her family rent a few cottages on this one property right on the lake. We LOVED IT!!! It was his longest road trip. (5 1/2 hours) and Duncan was great. He napped mostly and would pop up every so often to check out the view and give me the "how much longer?" look. We took 4 mile walks every morning. And he was giddy to chase/track chipmunks galore.
And then in the…

Dear Duncan:
You are my Furry Valentine. I love when you rest your head on my lap.

My little Duncan is 3 today! He may have been a purchase from a breeder but i still consider him a rescue story. HE RESCUED ME!!!! He's brought me all the love and affection that I was seeking...and then some! AND he's my entertainment. He makes me laugh constantly each and every day with his silly antics and doodle-isms.
I let him share my scrambled eggs this morning. And of course we'll head to the park later so he can chase squirrels.
It's his day! Of course every…

Well Duncan is down for the count. We started the day at 11:30am to head to a doggie costume parade in our local park....He didn't win but enjoyed seeing some of his friends. The costume part he wasn't thrilled about (he was a Sheriff) but he was a real sport and kept the hat on long enough for me to snap some pics. Then it was straight to Dogtoberfest which is an annual event my dog walking company sponsors at our local beer garden. Yes! an outdoor beer garden where the dogs have biscuits…

So Duncan and i took our 2nd annual trip to Cape May last weekend. We rented the same great house....It's totally dog friendly. And since i don't have a backyard where i live we thoroughly enjoyed frolicking in the yard there. Plus we took a few great walks along the beach and got to have dinner at Seaweed's house. Seaweed is a labradoodle we met last year when we were there. I became friends with Seaweed's mom on facebook and we made sure to plan to get together for dinner this year.…

Duncan just wanted to say thanks to Nina for the delicious fresh baked goodies he received. The tote bag with his pictures on it was a total surprise and so lovely. The sentiment is just so perfect! We got so excited when the doorbell rang. I let him have one of each and he devoured them. He's currently still sniffing the priority mail cardboard box!

So some of you might remember I mentioned last year that i met a guy at the dog park (he has 2 german shorthaired pointers) and I thought that he might be THE ONE! Well not only did it not work out the way I wanted but I recently discovered a lot about what's happened in the last year that I didn't know before. Let's just say he met someone else within days of me and the "other girl" seems to have won. (although i guess he thought he could try us out at the same time. She can have him since…

So i tend to work here and there in Manhattan. Sometimes a full week and sometimes just a day here and there. Whenever my clients need me. I have a friend who has a pet friendly office in Manhattan and sometimes Duncan gets to go there and play but yesterday he was allowed to come to my client's office. So he got to be with me while i worked. It was so much fun. He loved all the attention and basically rolled over for belly rubs for each and every person in that office. And as each person…

So today Duncan's "girlfriend" Lucy is spending the day with us. She's a little Jack Russell. She misses her momma and so insists on staring out the window until her momma gets back. Duncan has decided to stand beside her and give her moral support. I feel so bad. They usually have lovely playdates. Lots of chasing and playing hard to get. So now we've learned that they'll only really play if BOTH of their momma's are present.
Here's a pic of the two lovebirds looking out the…

So Duncan usually gets a haircut and bath at the groomer every 5-6 weeks. He's got lots of thick coarse fur that would be a matted mess if we let it grow too long. But 7 weeks have gone by because his groomer is opening her own "pooch parlor" and it won't be open until tomorrow. (we have the 1st appointment). I love how he looks when he has all this shag. So I took lots of pics yesterday. Because tomorrow he'll be without it. He was such a sport. Allowing me to take pics of him with such a…

I just can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday that I drove 4 hours west to pick up my little 12 week old fluffball and tomorrow he is going to be 2 years old!
Happy Birthday Duncan Doodle, Duncaroni, Stinkpot, Doodlicious, and every other name i call you.
Thanks for becoming the companion I needed and wanted. I adore you when you are sweet and affectionate just as much as when you are naughty. You are such a gentle soul. Here's to another year of…

i haven't decorated them but duncan tasted one of each and he approves. The plumpkins are softer and the snickerdoodle-poodle-poos are crunchier!
I'm going to be trying a frosting of peanut butter (no sugar or salt added) and low fat cream cheese tomorrow...…
