So i tend to work here and there in Manhattan. Sometimes a full week and sometimes just a day here and there. Whenever my clients need me. I have a friend who has a pet friendly office in Manhattan and sometimes Duncan gets to go there and play but yesterday he was allowed to come to my client's office. So he got to be with me while i worked. It was so much fun. He loved all the attention and basically rolled over for belly rubs for each and every person in that office. And as each person came back with their lunch he would follow them back to their desk and see what he could score...I think he managed to get 3 french fries, a small piece of bacon and a little bit of a turkey sandwich.
The only things that spook him are the subway grates, which he REFUSES to walk over. So we did some acrobatics for sure. And he doesn't like when people go in revolving doors. And squeeky brakes on big delivery trucks,
Took a while for me to find a tree for him to pee on but thank god one block away was a street that had 3 trees!!!!
And since he couldn't find grass he pooped on the GREEN painted pavement in front of the Macy's entrance (where the thanksgiving day parade is filmed) Eventually he realized that yes he can just pee right on the curb. We go into the city so infrequently that he has to re-learn urban living. HAHA! And last time there was so much snow that he was comfortable just doing his biz. in the snow like home.
Here's a picture of me and duncan and his buddies Nora, Daschle and Enzo at my friend's office and another one of my client and duncan in his office.
I realize that its not crazy to want to spend your workday with your dog. I think more and more we'll see animals allowed to go to work with their owners. Hey i could even train duncan to get my printouts from the printer tray.

I live and work in the city and there are so few office buildings that allow dogs (they say for insurance reasons). You are very lucky to work in one of them. I would so love to bring Lola to work with me - she would have a blast - doing exactly the same thing - getting belly rubs from everyone.
Regarding grates - Lola has always avoided them. It's pretty funny to see her go out of her way to not walk on them but it's not just subway grates but gutters, manholes and sidewalk basement entrances!
