As some of you might have heard already Benny was chosen to take part in the Dog Whisperer European Live Tour.

The show took place in Amsterdam and my boyfriend taped our "performance" with the Iphone as cameras were not allowed.

It was time again that Benny had a stupid accident. We don't know how it happened but in the first night of our trip to the sea I woke up because I heard Benny scratching all the time. When I checked on him I realized that his left eye was closed, tears were running out of it and he couldn't open it anymore. First thing in the morning I tried to find a vet close to us still thinking he just had a pinkeye from driving with an open window. But it turned out that he obviously got something into… Continue

today was meant to be THE day. I had a vet appointment with Benny to remove the stitches on his paw. We both were looking forward already to remove the stupid shoe he was wearing all time over his bandage and this would have meant: no leash, finally running around and playing rough with other dogs again and most important SWIMMING. But it all turned out different. The stitches were removed, but there are still some irritations which can get infected. Which means: outside still the shoe, no… Continue

Well, as I am a bit scared I thought writing it down might help.

As some of you already know Benny cut one of his webbed feet a while ago. After weeks of antibiotics and wearing a shoe outside and during the night the wound finally closed and the infection was gone. On Monday I suddenly realized that he was licking his paw again all the time. I checked it and saw that the skin between his toes was cut open again and it looked like it did in the beginning. I have no idea how that happened… Continue

Benny stepped the other day into something (probably glass) and cut the skin between his toes on one of his webbed feet.

The wound got infected and he kept licking on it, so the vet decided that he needs to wear a shoe to protect the wound.

As I am working for the company with the swoosh all my colleagues started making jokes that Benny is the only one in the family who has to wear "no name" brand shoes and that it is not fair.

Every time I take a day off from work Benny seems to become sick.

First time I took a day off he got high fever and I went to see my vet and it turned out that he had hackles infection and needed to stay in ICU for 2 days.

Next day I took off from work he got an UTI and after seeing the vet I spent the day with going potty with him.

Next day I took off his ears were dark red and he had a two sided ear infection, so again time to visit my vet.

Today it's really Friday the 13th for me. I came back from work and went with Benny to my friend who owns the Bordeauxdog Zoey who is Benny's biggest buddy. We went together on a walk around the lake and both dogs were off leash. In the distance we saw already 2 people standing around with a great dane and an american bullterrier both off leash as well. with shaking hands I pressed the "send" button and then my application for the puppy waiting list at Rutland Manor was gone.

And today I received the confirmation that my name is on it!

How exciting......I still cannot believe it.

When I announced the news at my work the best and funniest comment I got was,

"So technically you are pregnant with a puppy now"

Funny how life can go into directions which you never had imaged.

I would like to praise a very useful invention: The medical petshirts!!!

Benny had a castration on Thursday and I was fearing already the collar he had to wear afterwards. Both our cats got a castration too and they really hated the collar.

Actually I do think a collar can cause even more fear and traumatize your pet.

Therefore I am really happy that the doctor gave me choice between a collar and a medical pet shirt when I picked Benny up. Of course the petshirt costs a bit more… Continue
