I am so proud of Riley he graduated basic obiedience 101 last night. He also got the go ahead from our trainer to enroll him in the next class up, which is Advanced obiedience 202. He did almost everything perfectly which is a HUGE surprise from 5 weeks ago when we started and he barked, dug at the dirt floor, pulled on the leash, barked some more and tried to play with everyone and every dog he saw the entire hour and a half. I was so scared to take Riley to get him groomed,but I had to. The poor baby had no eyes. At least none that I had seen in weeks. So I got up my nerve to call some groomers today, and I was lucky enough to find one that said that she did LOTS of doodles and would not make him look like a poodle. So off he went.



I dropped him off and went to the grocery store and then came back to get him. He looked so grown up....AHHH, they get big so fast :( Anyways I couldn't be happier with what… Continue

I took Riley to his first puppy play date today. I have been looking around the neighborhood for other puppies or dogs for him to play with but my neighbors all seem to have anti-social dogs that "don't like other dogs". Huh, I wonder how that happened?



Anyway.... I found that Petco has puppy play dates on Saturday mornings for an hour, so I took him today. He had a BLAST! He played with about 13 other puppies, all kinds and sizes but for some reason he was drawn to two… Continue

After all the searching I finally have decided on Riley as his name. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.

Now the fun begins of teaching him his name, and my kids not to call him puppy.

After everything that happened this week with the first female puppy I was supposed to bring home. The breeder called me back today and I went out to see all the puppies she had left in the liter. With the problem with the first puppies lymph node I was a little worried about her health.



As it turns out when I met all the puppies she actually did not fit my personality after all. I ended up FALLING completely in love with this little guy.

I am disappointed that I was not able to pick up Shelby today. I had my whole Birthday planned out to spend the day with my new puppy, and now I am sitting on the couch watching TV.



I started out this morning taking the kids to Bob Evans and then we headed out to pick up Shelby. That is when the breeder called me and let me know that when she was bathing Shelby for me to pick her up she noticed that one of her lymph nodes was swollen.

Tomorrow is the "big day" I am going to pick up my little bundle of joy from the breeder. I can hardly wait. I have everything set up, the crate, toys, blankets, leash, collar, dishes,food etc.... Yeah!

I should be bringing my little Shelby home on Saturday. She is 7 weeks old today. I have everything ready for her and can not wait to spend life with her.
