Puppymills are a huge problem in the United States. If you are unclear of what a puppymill is take a look at the pictures below. They are sickening & REAL. This type of life for millions of poor unfortunate dogs are a reality everyday. For many dogs they are confined in conditions like this for their entire life until they are no longer able to breed (to make their capturers money) then they are killed. The dogs you see in these pictures are VERY lucky as they are being photographed because they were rescued. So many dogs do not hit the dog lottery & make it out alive.


How can you help? DO NOT EVER EVER EVER BUY A DOG/PUPPY FROM A PET STORE OR MARKET, OR SWAP MEET. THE DOGS YOU SEE ARE ADORABLE & CUTE. BUT THEY WERE BORN IN CONDITIONS LIKE THIS AND ARE 90% OF THE TIME VERY SICK & MOST DIE VERY SOON AFTER THEY GO TO THEIR NEW HOMES. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THE PUPPY MILLERS BY BUYING THEIR PUPS FROM PET STORES...

This is so so sad. Please please do not believe it when pet stores post that their puppies are not from puppy mills. Nuts. No responsible breeder would ever put their precious puppies in a pet store to be sold.

This makes me so sad. In Austin, pet stores are banned to sell puppies because they are from puppy mills. Everyone should do their part and voice what is happening. If your friends are thinking about getting a puppy, tell them not to get one from a pet store.

I bought a soft coated wheaten terrier from what I thought was a breeder but turned out that she came from a puppy mill. She was a beautiful dog and I loved her so much. She had many little problems but because I loved her and she loved back so unconditional she was worth the thousands of $ I spent on her. A few days after her 4th birthday she came down with pancreatitis and I spend so much and had priviate care for her but it the end it took her life. I still cry when I think of her and miss her so much. Puppy mills are cruel to the dogs I agree but so much more for the person that is left behind with the broken heart. I have my little Ozzy to help heal the pain, but the tears still fill my eyes even when I write to tell anyone the emptyness left behind from my little "Peanuts". I believe the people that run these puppy mills should be stopped and charged with the emotional damage they also cause to the humans that loved these animals.
