It is exactly one week today that we have had our little 8 week old "bundle of joy" (smirk) Piper. It has been an emotionally draining week for sure...thinking that our breeder had tricked us into spending a ridiculous amount of money for a vampire who loves to pee on everything and was sent to destroy our house. :o)

But we are starting to get into the swing of things and been working on everything and it feels like we have had breakthroughs on all fronts! As my hubs said, who wouldn't act badly when they are having to adjust to EVERYTHING new! We have had no piddles in the house for 4 days, Piper has learned about 5 commands and does them even when distracted (wow, this is what we liked about doodles in the first place!), he is walking beautifully (most of the time) on a leash, and today...the best day of all, our wounds have had a day to heal and vampire dog is finally understanding that the jaws act is not going to work! Now that is a good day.

Yup, those puppy teeth are like razor wire, we used to refer to our Penny as a Piranha-Doodle. Now she has big-girl teeth and all is well. I blogged on here every week from Penny being 8 weeks old to 6 months old. They were very popular blogs with the other members, you might like to check them out to see what to expect over the coming weeks, all the bad stuff is very short-term. If you have as much fun as we have with Penny your life will be richer.

You are too funny! Our vampire appeared every night like clockwork at about 5:30 pm. We called it the "wildtime".
We still have scars. The funniest was: I walked into my bedroom where my husband had been lying on our bed playing with the little beast. I could hear them frolicking around in there and then I heard a loud "OUCH". When I walked in my husband had toilet paper stuffed up one of his nostrils to stop the bleeding. I couldn't help but laugh. Apparently, one of the little razor blades these puppies have for teeth caught him in the nostril and sliced it wide open. The next morning, hubs left with a bloody scar on his nose and a bandage on each hand!!!

Lol, I have no expectations for tomorrow other than start it all again! Hoping vampy won't return, but I know he will reappear!

Wow, sounds like he is doing great to me for being so young. It took Lilly weeks before she went 4 days without going in the house.:)

Incredible progress in a short time. Don't let a little backsliding get you down.
