In my previous blog we learned the story of Rosco's lost squeaker.

Today, a week later, we made the trip to PetCo again in hopes for a successful match and Clark spotted a little devilish squeaker that looked and sounded to be the same type that he has at home now (the ratted, circling the drain but still living one). We bought it.

Rosco was happy with it and I left him in the backyard to enjoy it in the grass, while the backdoor was open and I could hear him squeak along. Then I suddenly couldn't hear any more squeaking...I heard what sounded like tearing...hmmm.

This is what I found in Rosco's possession:

Notice the mini toupee of apricot doodle hair on its head.

Sooo...without too much ado he got to watch it go into the big trashcan outside.

*sigh*

I tried

Rest in Peace, strange looking devil toy! ;)
Maybe try putting the next squeaky toy in an old sock? (or a sock within a sock, knotted at the end) My doods have a harder time killing squeaky toys when there's fabric in the way. :)

I'm a bit behind now on your journey, but where is the Elvis chicken? I think Rosco really really wants it back. Nothing else will do. Love the toupee thing on that devilish thing . Rosco left his mark.

Hmmm. Did you realize the google ads that came up on this page were for "toddler squeaky shoes"
www.squeakmeshoes.com just a thought. ;-)

Well...I have no clue. My dogs are perfectly content with their bones and fetching this dense foam ball (foam that has lasted 3 YEARS...go figure!). And based on past precedent, a squeaker he's had for over a year (part of the time it's been baking in the sun untouched) that is still intact, I got this new squeaker thinking it would be exactly the same. I have no idea what is different. Fortunately, I did see a rubber pig (which previously lasted 2 years...so I might try for ONE last attempt).

I tried a couple of similar toys on the 'dog trolley" I made after seeing a post. they both lasted less than 10 minutes. The empty gallon plastic jug is still there causing neighbors to wonder. I'd love to think of good and easy toys for the trolley though--any ideas? I do hate squeaker toys and I'm sort of relieved when they meet a swift end.
