Are we normal???

So DH and I were getting ready for work this morning, just chatting away with Taquito and Peri (seriously talking to them) and he asks me "Are we crazy? Do you think we talk to our dogs too much? Do other people do this?". I just laughed and said I am sure other people do and he agreed.

But really, how often do you talk to your dogs? Are we over the top because we don't have human children yet? Will this all change?

A typical morning convo with Lady Peri & Tacky goes like this:

Me: Morning Lady Peri - are you excited to go outside today?

Peri: yawwwn....stretch.....sigh.....

Me: Oh Taquito it's a hard life for you - you're just a little guy in a big world - ready to go outside?

Tacky: comes out from under the covers, yawns and grins...

Me: You're the best dogs in the whole world.

DH: Yes you are - we ruv you! Let's go outside choodle...

Peri and Tacky: run to front door together full of smiles.

Seriously, this happens more often than it doesn't. I can't believe I am admitting it! Then again I guess no one is "normal" - at least we love our dogs and are good "parents". Hehe.

LOL when I first read the title "Are we normal???" Of course I said to myself "Duh of course not we are on a doodle website and we think its NORMAL" LOL LOL

I have full blown conversations with Hunter on an hourly basis. I work from home so Hunter is my companion and coworker. I just got done asking her what she wanted to do for lunch - I am sure she agreed with me and I asked her if she was comfy on the couch and warm enough LOL She looked a little chilly so I covered her with a blanket! She was saying thank you with her eyes I just know it!

Anthropomorphize is one of my favorite words, normal is not! And so, yes I doI talk to Camus and of course he talks to me too. Although, not being as smart as he is I cannot understand eveything he says to me!!

I am crazy too! I definitely love & talk to Sadie. My family and friends do too! We are all crazy~

I guess that means we are crazy too! I am a Mom to an 11 year old boy and STILL talk like that to Allie!!!! DH talks to Allie like that too!!!

[Nina, Phil, Harlow & Lacey]

We talk to all our fur-kids like they are human children. We did this before, during and after children. Unlike teenagers the fur-kids at least look like they are listening. :-o

Yeah we talk to Cooper (and Merry and Pippin the cats). Cooper talks back to us too! (in a squeaky Daddy voice when talking to Mummy and vice versa!!!)

Sounds normal to me! I'll admit that our dog has a voice and we all talk for him. Example, "Hi Boomer...mommy loves you." Boomer (in a different voice normally responds with, "I love you too mommy." Now that is probably NOT normal. LOL! When we got him, my husband asked me to promise not to do dog voices...but that promise was broken on day 2 when Boomer just had to start talking to me. LOL!

Hahaha! I think we all do that....I always ask Charlie and Butter how was their day when I get home....( How exciting can it be when you were in crate all day...)

No, you are NOT normal - you are crazy. But guess what? You are in good company, because we are all crazy about our dogs! If you come to my house in the morning you will hear choruses of "It's morning cuddle time." We sing it in all different tones of voice. (Gavin is super cuddly in the morning, before he gets all independent on us).
