Hi Doods...

Just got back from my morning walk with my human mom and I just had to take some time to blog about my experiences yesterday - because it was an AWESOME day....

Saturday morning I learned that my mom had arranged a doodle romp for me and 3 other doodles in our back yard. We are all puppies - I was actually the oldest at 7 months, and most of us hadn't ever been to a dog park, so we romped in MY backyard. It was so much fun... my friend Malu was there (of course) and then one of his littermates - Maxwell and also our first goldendoodle friend Knox! We had a great time.... we played, chased and had so much fun. It was 9:00am when we started, but it gets hot fast here in Texas and by 10:00am - we were hot doods, so my mom turned on the sprinklers in the back yard and we got to run and play in the water... it was so much fun. On a funny note - Knox who is cream colored found his way to the muddy corner of my back yard and laid down in it. Knox looked like an oreo cookie doodle, half cream half choclate. We played for about 2 hours and then everyone went home. I was tired, but I stayed outside and helped my mom as she cleaned up.... we sprayed down the patio and patio furniture, since it got dirty from wet/muddy doodles! She sprayed me with the hose while we cleaned up and it was soooo much fun! Needless to say, I was one tired dood and napped for a couple of hours!

Then... much to my surprise around 6:30pm - mom said... "let's go for a ride". We got in the car and headed to a park that I had never been to. As we walked in to the park, I met 3 basset hounds - they were very nice, but said they were going home. When we got inside - there we dogs EVERYWHERE! I have never seen so many dogs in my whole life!!! It turns out it was a community event called "Bark in the Park". I met big dogs, small dogs and really small dogs, I even met another doodle! The local animal shelter, pet stores, groomers, boarding and training facilities were all there... I even got free toys! Then I got to watch some working dogs do there thing. They had an agility dog, search dogs, and police dogs all demonstrate their skills. Mom told me that she wants me to be a therapy dog.... I don't really know what that means, but I think it sounds like a good thing. We didn't get home until 9:00pm and then mom had a friend over to play Wii :o) They are so silly when they play - the yell and scream at the TV.... something about Bowser's castle (Nintendo fans will understand).

This morning we "slept in" as mom calls it... she was so excited when I woke her up because it was 8:50am. She gave me lots of love and said thank you.... I think that is because I normally wake her up around 6:30am!!

If you are interested, there is a photo scrapbook that mom put together from our romp yesterdayon my page!

So glad you had fun at your own doodle romp! Playing with Doodles is very different from playing with other kinds of dogs. I don't know why but it is!

We love when we go to a romp on the beach! Mom lets me dig a huge hole in the sand which is a bit confusing since I am not allowed to that at home. Sometimes my Mom really makes me a bit crazy - 'Okay here but not at home'? I guess I will just have to learn to understand that she means it too!
Samantha doesn't like to dig in the sand -she is too busy trying to find a ball someone left! If that what makes her happy then I am happy for her. But I wish she wouldn't ignore me!
Glad you had so much fun!!!

I love your Smilebox! It looks like you Doodles had a great romp. Shelby, you're so lucky that you got to do all these fun things yesterday, and it was so nice that you let your Mom "sleep in" this morning. I wish you'd talk to Guinness and Murph about that....they never, ever sleep late.

Shelby, it sounds like you had a great day! They do something similar to Bark In The Park in our neighborhood. I think we'll go next time it comes! Going over to look at your photos...
