Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

After work I decided to take Bear for a walk on the boardwalk. We live just down the road from Lake Michigan and have a beautiful place to walk. Bear loves the boardwalk. He gets to see all the people, dogs, and of course ducks!

Bear met a GoldenDoodle named Gordie on his walk today. So nice to see him next to a full grown Doodle. He has lots of dog friends but we've never come across another Doodle. (Hi Gordie's Mom!)

Bear decided to play in the sand so it was off to our new favorite store Must Love Dogs. For $15 you can wash your dog in this elevated claw foot tub and then groom them using their grooming table. They supply the towels, shampoo, brushes, and forced air dryer. It was so nice to be able to bath him at my level and not have to clean up the mess! Now he's a big poofy ball of fun. I'm never going to the groomer again! (Yeah I know....I say that now...)

Now the poor guy has to get neutered on friday. I don't know how I'm going to keep him occupied without water or his beloved pig ear tomorrow night. How do you keep a 5 month old ball of energy calm?!?! This is going to be a LONG weekend.

I just had my 5 1/2 month old spayed last Wednesday and keeping her calm was not only challenging but impossible. She was a little mellow the first two days, but even with the pain medication she still wanted to jump and play. But now we are on day 7 and I have given up. She seems to have more energy, if that is possible, after trying to keep her calm this week. Its all that spent up energy. I walked her everyday with her lead so she wouldn't play outside and by today she was pulling me as she would jump and run around my yard. I guess her body is saying she is ok now. I even went back to clicker training. Good luck.

Hi Bears mom, My 6 1/2 month old doodle gets neutered April 24th. We had to postpone this twice because my husband had to go on business trips. I thought it was best if he was home to help comfort the big puppy that we have. Pls keep me informed on your progress this weekend. I am not sure either how to keep him calm and secluded for a week to 10 days. I actually don't believe it is even possible, but others have done it so I guess we can too. It's not like we can rent a movie or something to keep them quiet, or play a board game, or give them a popsicle etc etc-like with the kids. This should be interesting.
