Boca's First Week

This Boca-girl is just the best little puppy ever! All my fears about getting a puppy with a baby seem like a big joke. She's so great! We've only gone on two walks because it's so darn hot, and she pulls like a banshee, but since we have a training plan for the near future it's not at all a concern. I just tie her leash to the stroller handle, hold Rosco's leash in hand, and stroll away with all my kids :-)

Today I got farther in desensitizing her to the nail dremel and I'm pretty sure I could have dremeled a few nails without her batting an eye-lash...but just to be sure we didn't actually try it. However, she targets the dremel (the back end not the moving part) on or off. She lets me touch the back part to her paws, on or off. And she is the most gentle treat taker EVER...the treats practically fall off her tongue as she takes them from my fingers =)

No accidents to date and she is keeping Rosco on his toes.

Ahhhhh.....I just love that video with the dogs and Natalie.  Rosco is so laid back, Boca is so good about letting go of the bone, and Natalie is just adorable!  She's got great powers of concentration--wants that tasty bone!  LOL

Wonderful videos! And all is right with the world. All five of you are awesome. Adina, you and I are the worriers in our families and fortunately we both chose more laid back husbands. However, in our defense, I believe worrying is actually a combination of thoughtful planning and prayer. So our worrying is very useful. Having been married over 40 years I mostly keep my worrying to myself rather than "sharing". Doesn't mean I am not an excellent worrier though.)

I love how good both Boca and Rosco are with Natalie. And Boca is so sweet sharing that bone with her! But she was trying so hard to get a quick chew on it as Natalie was pulling it away from her. Soo cute!

Thirty years ago, we got a Bearded Collie during my wife's pregnancy, and that dog was sooo good with the baby when it arrived. Very protective, and they were inseparable. See photo:
