Cancer, Surgery, Floods, 2 Doods, 2 DSs and 2 Girlfriends

It's been an interesting week, to say the least. Murphy's biopsy came back positive for melanoma, confirmed by the vet school, and he will have radiation in the near future. He had surgery to remove what I hope is a hemangioma on his ankle Wednesday. We are waiting on those results.I am having trouble with him chewing the sutures out. Any suggestions appreciated.

The DSs and girlfriends flew in on Friday. By Saturday morning, we were flooded in with the water rising. (Quite a shock for girls from west Texas and Arkansas)  Fortunately they were dog people. Finn thought these were the best days of his WHOLE life!  Surprisingly, he charmed everyone.and was pretty adorable, I have to admit. He fell in the water and scared himself...but he did swim. Murphy thought that meant it was okay to swim so he jumped in....but not to rescue Finn. We all survived the weekend and the girlfriends were wonderful.

Today, I took Finn to Petsmart for the first time (need to work on that socialization). A lady came up to me and asked if he was a Goldendoodle. She said Finn looked just like her 6 month old Goldendoodle. (YAY!!)

So sorry to hear about Big Beautiful Murphy! I hope this is just a little bump in the road and that removal and radiation take care of it!

Thank you for the update Linda...we'll be sure to keep Murphy in our thoughts and prayers!

Wow...what a weekend you had!!

It sure sounds like the Doodles won the hearts of everyone...and in spite of the flooding everyone had fun.

I'm so glad that Finn is adjusting so well...he sure is one cute dood!

Hope this week is a good one for all of you...

Hugs...

Linda- we sure hope Murphy can beat this!  We had a foster during the winter and she stitches in her leg - we ended up putting a long sock on her - we used the adult holiday socks that always seem to be tighter.  Since she couldn't get her leg wet we had to do something so she could go outside during our snowy winter.  Good luck!

Linda, this sure was an interesting week!  I feel so bad that you and Murphy have to go through all this, but hopefully with the treatment he will be just fine.  As for chewing the sutures, can it be bandaged?  When Murph tore the pads on his foot, the only way to prevent the lapping and chewing was to keep it covered.  It is always a plus when you like the girlfriends!!

Linda, Thank you for the update. It sure does sound like you had a busy week. I am always keep good thoughts for Murphy and praying he breezes through the radiation. Finn sounds adorable and I am so glad you kept him. We have had lots of rain and flooding around here too. It is very nice when you like the girlfriends. We had one boyfriend show up that we did not like and that is so hard. Luckily, he moved away and we were ready to pay his plane ticket...LOL!! Take care!

Baby socks maybe, but I suspect Murph is far too clever for anything but the dreaded cone.

Speedy recovery Murphy!

I am going to check you page to see recent pictures of Fin right now.
