Dad left us!

Well, I have finally gotten to the bottom of why I was puppynapped. Dad woke me up very early this morning, 4:30. He said he was leaving. I've come to like him a lot and that made me sad, so I threw myself into the suitcase that Mom was packing for him. She laughed but said "no - I had to stay home". Then Mom got kinda sad too and I heard Dad talking to her.

Dad works very far away from us, he goes to NYC on a big airplane every Sunday or Monday and doesn't get to come back to Florida till Thursday or Friday. Poor Mom has been staying here a whole bunch with just a CAT. It seems that Dad moved Mom here from Michigan a year ago and she left all her friends and family way back there. Dad doesn't like somthing called "snow". So my Mom has been very, very lonely.

Months ago Mom told Dad that she was getting something called a "boyfriend" or she was getting a dog and that Dad could pick - yipee - he picked a dog - me. Although he told Mom that if the UPS guy brings any more stuff to our house that he might change his mind. I wonder if he was kidding. I'll try to keep mom from buying more stuff, she has a magic card that makes all kinds of dog stuff land on our front porch.

So before Dad left he told me to be a big boy and be good and to keep Mom company. Wow - I have a job! I still love my breeder but Mom says that there is going to be a new set of puppies to some other dogs at Breeders so she will be very busy.

So after a scary start - I have decided to keep these people - they need me! Mom still smells like flowers but now that she has to pick up my poop every day - I'm hoping the flower smell wears off. Rooney

That was so cute, I love the magic card that makes dog stuff appear on your front porch.. I have a feeling that when dad comes back on that big airplane he might have some dog stuff packed in that suitcase for you too.

Rooney, I am so glad you have a job. Aren't they cool? I have one too; it my job to teach the fosters the house rules while they wait for their forever families. I know you will do a great job taking care of your mom while you dad is away. Your friend Harlow.

We are sorry your dad has to go away. I'll bet he will miss you lots. Be sure to give him lots of kisses before he goes and when he comes back and maybe he will decide he can't bear to leave you all the time. But, when he is gone you and your mom can do special stuff that will be lots and lots of fun. Maybe you will be able to meet up with other doodles in Florida. I am sure Breeder loved you, but since she will be busy with new puppies, I think you might as well give your mom all of your loyalty. If you do, she will keep using that magic card so more cool stuff lands on your porch.

I totally understand what you mean about your Dad traveling and stuff...
My Dad travels...sometimes...but not as much as your Dad does.
Your Dad must be Verrrrry important to have to travel that much!!
Well...I do have a few things to share with you... that might be helpful ...to you and "your Mom...
When your Dad is away...that is such a "Very Special" time for you and your Mom to have together...you know...kind of a "Very Special Bonding Time"...where it's only the two of you!!
Trust me!! It's a VERY special time...which is... "Only For The Two Of You"....and that is something you will learn to cherish...believe me!!

During those times...you can take longs walks...play your very favorite games...you know...do whatever the two of you want to do.
It's a time where you don't have to ask Anyone else what They Want To Do!! (smile)
Mom and I have come to really look forward to those "Special" times together...

What we've come to learn is...it's all about how you "Look At Things"...and...what we realize is that Family...is the Very Most Special and Important thing in All the World...

So Roo...you and your Mom have a lot of wonderful Adventures to look forward to when your Dad is away on business...and...when your Dad is home...the three of you will enjoy So Many Wonderful times together...because...I have the feeling...that your Mom and Dad are kind of like mine...and...that your Mom and Dad love you... OH SO VERY MUCH!!!!

Hey Rooney...Gracie Doodle from San Diego here. You have a huge job ahead of you and you will be very successful with it. When Stinky...er...Mom takes you out walking, to the dog park or any of the places she likes to go you are going to attract sooooo many people. She won't get more than a foot out of her car with you before someone comes over and asks about you and wants to pat you. My Mom and Dad have bets now when they take me out in public...how far will we get and how many people will stop us. It is always close to 15 people at any given time. Since my Mom got me she has made lots of new friends and it sounds like that is what your Mom needs. Have her join the DK groups that are in her area and take you to the Doodle Romps nearby. My Mom drives once a month 1 1/2 hrs. to take me to a romp and that is how she gets to see all her DK friends and my friends too! Ned and Clancy are my BFFs but live in another town so I see them at the romps. Your job little Rooney man is to get her out there in the public (after you have had all your shots though). She will have tons of friends in no time. Keep her smiling and laughing. I make my Mom and Dad so happy and they wag their tails all the time...ha ha!

Hey Rooney...my dad travels all the time too. Last week he was in Columbus Ohio then on to Nashville Tennesee...then came home Wed...left Sunday morning for North Carolina and won't be back until Sunday. I miss him a lot...but I take care of mom while he is away. She needs me and to tell you the truth she really spoils me while dad is away. You will get the hang of it on how to take care of things. My mom and dad are looking for places in Fort Myers/Naples areas but most of the places don't want dogs as big as me!! I wonder why...I only weigh 98 lbs. What is the problem with these condo places anyways? I am a big furry teddy bear or at least that is what mom calls me. Personally I LOVE the snow here in Canada but my mom wants a place that we can go to for a few months to get warm.
