DH used to play guitar but for the last couple of years has been too busy to practice at all. Well, he decided to pull it out for the first time since we've had Darwin. I never expected such a strong reaction from our mellow pup! His reaction was hilarious because it was completely unexpected. DH played a chord and Darwin jumped about 4 feet and BOLTED.  I thought at first that he was afraid of it, because of his crazy reaction. I was shocked because Darwin isn't freaked out by any sounds that we know of. Fireworks, vacuums, pianos etc. He doesn't mind them.

It became apparent pretty quickly that he thought it was a game though. He came sauntering back with his tail wagging, Jacob would play a chord, and he'd jump and run. Then he would come back, play bow, and freak out as soon as the guitar played. Maybe this is one of those things that nobody finds funny but us. :-) But hey, it was 20 full minutes of great entertainment. :-)

That's to funny about Luca, good though he doesn't do it to real dogs!  Zoe loves to see other animals on tv.  She runs right up to the screen and looks up at it and cocks her head.  Then she'll scoot sideways in a sit position and do the whole prissy tuck the butt sit.  It's hysterical.  Her favorite program is Sunrise Earth.

If you've never seen it, it's a beautiful way to start your day.  I have it on every morning.  It's a program about the sunrise somewhere on earth.  They are working the east coast presently.  The other morn it was in Maine.  The sky was all a bright but deep orange.  There is no talking.  Just the sounds of nature.  She loved the one on Cape Cod.  Didn't know if she'd catch a bird, clam or fish.  It kept her active that morning!  It's on HD Discovery Theater between 7 and 8 EST.  Though it's obviously filmed earlier.... Try getting your Zen on in the morning with this show.  It may seem boring at first, but once you get into it, it's somehow addicting for me.  IDK maybe the longing for home or more nature since this last year, I've been a bit deprived of it.  Check it out

Luca doesn't often watch TV but he goes nuts if a dog, horse or just about any critter is on. Sometimes he can contain himself but often he goes on attack mode, which he doesn't do to real dogs ever.

Adina, yes he does. The hilarious thing is he actually has a favorite movie genre. He LOVES the disney princess songs. I think it's because there is bird tweeting and high pitched voices... I don't know. But he is very attentive to those kind of movies.

This would have entertained me for 20 min or more as well :-)

Reminds me of when my 7 and 8 yr olds were doing hand-clapping songs (i.e. Ms. Suzie had a Steamboat...).  Porter came over, started sticking his head between their hands and groaning and barking.

Yes a video is a must!  That's pretty funny!  Does Darwin watch TV too?

I dunno but my dogs just don't seem to notice music or react to it at all (neither do they react to the TV).  Clark once played the trombone with Rosco super close to him and I was sure Rosco would want to get far away since it's a pretty loud instrument.  NOPE.  He lay practically at his feet.  No reaction to the ukelele either.

Clearly Darwin is just trying to let your DH know he should have practiced more.

I should have taken a picture or video initially but I was too distracted by what was going on, LOL. DH and I tried to take a video today but Darwin must have gotten too used to the guitar by now. He just wagged his tail and layed down for a nap. I am going to try again tonight, maybe he'll be more playful. :-)
