Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I've always loved taking pictures, and then trying to improve them and share them with friends and family. I also have always loved my pets. Currently, Zach is our canine family member, and Peeps is our long time feline kid. And so, after my two human kids grew up and moved away, I began combining my love for pictures and animals.
Here's a backdrop on me...once my husband and I became empty-nesters back in 2006, I decided to try to find a job. Now back in the early 80's (pre-kids) I had a great job in the aerospace industry as a computer programmer analyst. HA. That was a looooong time ago, and of course not worth anything on a resume. Kids came along, and I stayed home with them. So now, basically, all that prosepective employers see is 'stay at homer' on my resume, even though it is filled with what I think are valuable assets. Wah wah wah, right? The bottom line is that I can either find a low-paying job, or go back to school to retrain myself. I HATE the idea of parting with cash to do that, though.
I had a one year gig in 2008 as a bank teller when I lived in the Austin, TX area. But then the economy happened, my husband lost his job, and we relocated back to our roots in Southern California. I haven't really put any effort into finding a job yet because I've been having too much fun doing other things. As such, I've filled my time with lots of picture taking and sharing, most especially on that accursed social site, that's right.... Facebook. I've been branching out lately in the PhotoShop Elements arena, using free online tutorials on Elements, and have decided to make the ole doodle my favorite subject.
And so the subject of my blog. I'm trying to learn how to make Zach pictures into Zach cartoons. I posted my first few attempts on my page here, but today I decided to put these Doodle Day cartoons on their own Facebook page. Please feel free to look at them, and comment on them. I would really appreciate comments on how you think they would be better, or if they are even interesting to look at.
Feel free to "Like' my page and follow it.
Thanks for listening! I've never made a blog post before, and I kinda like it.

Thanks again, everybody, for 'liking' my F/B page. I just joined both the Art Cafe and Photography groups... so excited to read through them. So much to learn....
I just clicked "Like" on FB! What a great hobby that others can enjoy, too! Way to go!!
That was the name of the group I couldn't think of....Art Cafe....duh? F was right and I hate to say that :)
Doris, I think there are definite pros and cons about being on FB. My favorite thing about being on there is the ease of sharing photos with my family. Plus, I've reconnected with many many people from my long ago past. :)
Thanks guys!!! And thanks so much for the heads up on the Art Cafe Group. I'm really excited about looking through that info!!
The cartoons are very good indeed. I think Laurie was thinking of the Art Cafe Group.
I think your cartoons are great! You are so creative! I'm not on FB but my DH and DD are! Maybe I need to join,,,
Very cute.... love the cartoons!
Thanks Janie, Laurie and Jennifer. Laurie, I definitely have been lurking about the Photo group here on DK, but haven't jumped in with contributions yet. There are many talented people there for sure. Thanks for suggesting looking for a group.
Wow! Such talent! Will like your page!
